A classic London beer style with a long and colourful history, Porter originated in the city around 300 years ago. While there are conflicting accounts of the exact origins of Porter, it’s clear the beer has been enjoyed by hard-working Londoners for centuries. We use traditional malts and Kentish hops in ours, and we’ve also brewed experimental versions with tea, coffee, oysters, chipotle, and New World hops.

Transferring some earlier reviews from my blog to RB. Aprill 2014, The Fox’s Knocker (£ 2,50), 33 cl. Valades muidugi pruunikas-must, rohke tumekreemika vahuga, mis suht kiiresti taandub. Aroom on võimsalt-rammusalt nätske rummikoogine, meelele tuleb siuke kook, kus sees on veel mingit moosinatukest, hapukat, nt pohlamoosi, võib-olla ka ploomi ja kakaopuru. Suht kerge kehaga, vähese karbonisatsiooniga. Kergelt hapukas, suitsuploomine, tahmane-tolmune... Suulakke jääb kuiv, kurku kleepjas tunne. Väga hea, kuigi mingi nüke nagu jääks puudu.

Backlog rating. Bottle from Sourced Market, London. It pours a deep brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, cocoa and dark chocolate with light grassiness. Taste is medium sweet with chocolate notes, medium bitter with roasted coffee beans and lightly tart with blackbeeries in the finish. Body is medium with good carbonation. Overall, good.

Lovely porter from Pressure Drop. Roasted, lovely bitter and a bit tart, there’s chocolate en licorice here, as well as what I feel is a whiff of vanilla., Mine was quite lively. Impressed at the strength in flavor, considering the low ABV.
