3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from Borough Wines. Very interesting taste indeed, and aroma actually. Hard to place what it is. Fresh herbs, coriander, mint, rosehip, flora, nettle, pot pourri... ok, but not sure I’d go for another.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from ales by mail. Love the artwork!
hazy burnished gold with fluffy white head collapsing to a mere lacing. Spicey, slightly tart aroma of cloves, black pepper and lemon peel. Medium body and full of flavour for its fairly diminutive strength. Interesting peppery tingle and a woodsy sage like herbal note, slight szechwan like tongue tingle in a dry finish. Its like a grisette saison.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Keg @The Vintage, Leith. Pours golden/yellow, almost no head at all, very light carbonation. Big fruit on the nose, it smells almost like a wine. Quite dry in the palate (again, wine like) some sherbet, not my favourite.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from vino broughton. Pale yellow slightly hazy. Little head due to inexpert pour. Nose has loads of coriander, cloves, fresh herbs. Tight bubbles, clean and crisp. More coriander and a bit of banana. Thinning body. Tart and refreshing. Bottle says BB 31.01.14 so might not be too fresh. Very good though.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma: herbs, sage? Appearance: cloudy light gold, huge white head. Taste: quite sour. Palate: light and crisp, sage again, quite fizzy. Overall: interesting beer, don’t be misled by the label saying ’Hefeweisse’ - that is the minor bit of the experience. Bottle from Oddbins Pimlico, London.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Hazy golden with white head. Aroma of herbs, sage, and standars banana clove. Taste is slightly less herbal, banana and clove again. All a bit thin in texture and flavour. Not a great example of a style that is rarely good anyway

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. A wonderful label. An interesting beer, but not quite as odd as I was expecting. Cloudy yellow, with a foamy white head. A fair bit of yeast sediment throughout. Wheat, grass, slightly sweet bread. Much like a hefeweisse in taste - more of a spicy/herb flavour up front with a more traditional wheat and banana finish. Nice.
