Great-looking stubby bottle but pours an insipid yellow color with small fizzy head. sweet grain aroma. Clean, a few phenols but overall a bland nose. Soft mouthfeel, not too sticky. Incredibly watery and sweet with a hint of bamboo shoots. Not bad for what it is, really, and even better when paired with some delicious Haitian food mmmm.

Light gold colour. Grassy aroma is a little bit skunked, but not much. Clean pale malt underneath. Fairly bland, watery, with slighty skunky herbal hop, a bit berryish and more than a bit grainy. Clean, well-made macrobrew.

The aroma is near nothing, maybe a little water and sweet malt. The appearance is super pale with a really thin head. The flavor is mildly peppery with just water and sweet malt. The palate is thin. Overall nothing bad but nothing I want again.

Pours yellow/gold with a thin white head. Smells perfumy with sime dry hoppy hints and some earthiness. Tastes of apples, caramel, some pepper, hints of spice, touches of bitterness on the finish. Not bad for what it is.

courtesy of hopscotch - slightly hazy golden-bronze colour with a little remaining foam; a festival of wet paperboard and dust hits the nose; medium-bodied with a sharp carbonation, sweet and no bitterness; effervescent carton-like finish

My 60th Country Rating & 80th Pale Lager! :: 12oz "Red Stripe" bottle. Pours a light, very light, very clear, almost yellow. Aroma of a country road in the North Georgia Mountains as you pass through the farms with the chicken coops. So, then, aroma of chicken poop. Flavor of water. Infact the rinse water from my glass of Bell’s Expedition Stout was darker than this. But hey... this beer won a Gold Medal at the 2000 World Beer Cup.

Appearance: Pours a near clear body with only a light yellow tint and topped by a thin, wisp of a white head. Smell: Faint aroma of watered-down malts and grassy hops. It’s hard not to look crestfallen after sniffing this one. Taste: Bland, weak flavor only a teeny tiny hint of malts and corn sugar. Hops are gone. Dash of mineral water for the finish. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A cheerless beer experience. I’m ashamed to say it, but I Haiti’d it.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2008 Bottle... Clear, straw-colored lager with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Restrained biscuit and toffee nose with soft white pepper. Mostly sweet flavor with gentle, peppery hop bitterness and moderate ethanal. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Moderately sweet finish.
