3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was bottled 5 months ago so it’s pretty fresh. The pour is a dark brownish-deep amber color with a good initial fluffy tan head. The aroma has the expected Belgian yeast and candi sugars, some clove, raisins, and dates. There’s some sugary spice flavors at first that give way to dark fruit, yeast, and some rumcake. The flavors pretty much fall in line with the aroma but the body is richer than I thought it would be with plenty of malty sweetness. Pretty impressive. As the case with most American Quads, this does fall short of some of the better Belgians but that’s no knock. This is a damn fine beer.

Dark red and full-bodied, with a spicy caramel malt aroma and flavour. Sweet, full, pungent and lightly bitter taste. Overall, a smooth and very tasty quadrupel.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from one of Pretty Things final runs purchased in Jan. 2016 drank in April, 2016. Slightly murky reddish brown. Nose is oxidized with some cardboard and also light prune. Taste is very dry, especially for the style, but also seems unattenuated with some oxidation. Was really looking forward to this but quite disappointed.
