Our first Spring, we brought you a magical tree full of waving babies… and the Baby Tree has stuck around, we’re happy to say. So for our second Spring, and each Spring since, we’ve made a pale gold, hoppy triple called Fluffy White Rabbits. This is a fun and Springy beer: possibly even our fun-est beer. In Yorkshire, they say “White Rabbits” on the first of the month for luck, and here’s to a lovely warm Springtime for all of us!

The beer is 8.5% abv, with Saaz, Styrian Goldings and Strisselspalt hops added aplenty. Fluffy mouthfeel: yes, really! There’s a faint sweetness with tropical fruit undertones. Fluffy White Rabbits is a very “Pretty Things” take on a Triple.

We use what we think are the finest ingredients around: malts from Weyermann (Germany) and Fawcett (Yorkshire) in this beer.

It’s a fun one, we hope you enjoy it!

Cloudy orange with white head. Aroma is strongly citrus. Taste is not as hippy as expected and over balanced sweet. Still very enjoyable.

This beer has the aroma of grapefruit. It has a gold color and a strong bite of hops. We paired it with a mushroom tart. It took some of the bite away and left a sweet flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nice if a bit average Belgian. Pours a nice looking cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of Belgian and a bit of grapefruit. Berries and grapefruit in the taste, with a slight hoppiness throughout. Paired sleuth mushroom Swiss tartlets, the hoppiness is cut a bit with some sweetness coming in. Had in the bottle.

Sample at Julio’s Spring Beer Fest. Poured gold with a fluffy (pun intended) white head. Lemon zest and various other citrus aromas and a light yeasty scent. Lightly sweet flavor with some hints at candied sugar as well as more citrus, apple and pear, with some Belgian characteristics. Medium to light body and to the dry side.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 650ml ($8): Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is hoppy, yeasty, and fruity. Nice amount of hoppiness in this, which adds a lot of edge to the more traditional tripel style beneath it all. Spice and citrus are of course there. Quite good.

Pours a clear golden colour with a thin white cap. The aroma is sweet, bubble gum, peaches, bananas, tropical fruits, with an underlying dry herbal note. The flavour is also sweet, bubble gum and tropical fruits are a large part of the flavour profile with light pepper and herbal notes rounding things out. Different, solid, and easy drinking, I thoroughly enjoyed this brew!

Pour is lightly hazed yellowish amber with a fairly tight white head. Nose is predominantly candied sugar, light earthy note, and some sweet lemon. Taste is a bit more sweet but has some other things going on. Hints of peppery yeast and light tang. Sweeter candied sugar, faint candied lemon, not much of a distinct hop profile. Smooth medium body and well carbonated, very inviting palate.

It poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was candied sugar, some yeast and a hint of a pear. The taste was mostly sweet with a somewhat tart dry finish. It had a smooth mouth feel and the alcohol was hidden well. Tasty.

Bottle, shared at the Boxing Day tasting at TimE’s place in Calgary. Yeasty fruit esters are overpowered by hop oils within a sweet and slightly heavy body. This drank like an imperial hopfenweiss to me, which I know sounds kind of stupid, but I liked it.

A bit too sweet with some bready notes and big hops, but too sweet. AbV is well hidden, but not that interesting.
