Our first Spring, we brought you a magical tree full of waving babies… and the Baby Tree has stuck around, we’re happy to say. So for our second Spring, and each Spring since, we’ve made a pale gold, hoppy triple called Fluffy White Rabbits. This is a fun and Springy beer: possibly even our fun-est beer. In Yorkshire, they say “White Rabbits” on the first of the month for luck, and here’s to a lovely warm Springtime for all of us!

The beer is 8.5% abv, with Saaz, Styrian Goldings and Strisselspalt hops added aplenty. Fluffy mouthfeel: yes, really! There’s a faint sweetness with tropical fruit undertones. Fluffy White Rabbits is a very “Pretty Things” take on a Triple.

We use what we think are the finest ingredients around: malts from Weyermann (Germany) and Fawcett (Yorkshire) in this beer.

It’s a fun one, we hope you enjoy it!

On tap at Deep Ellum in Boston. Cloudy golden yellow with foamy off white head lots of lace. Aroma is sweet malt with noticeable appricot and yeasty bread. Flavor tends toward malty dried fruit with slight hop bitter. Very nice lingering aftertaste.

I had this at O’reilly’s in Harrisburg -served chilled in a pint allowed to gradually rise in temp. The color is brilliant golden with sunset appearance with golden brown near the crown so light at the base toward amber above with a rocky 1 inch cap. There is light chill haze with visible carbonation that moves upward slowly. The bead is fine and the lace sticks in a frothy way to the glass. The smell is sweet with some tropical notes from the yeast and a slight orange rind aroma with mild floral hop odors and slight spice with a hint of alcohol. The feel is moderately full bodied with some sugary edges and moderately bitter which gives the perception of balance with the sugar texture and smooth creamy yeast which also brings out some hop acidity and mild toasted malt textures to round out the feel with a semi-dry finish. The flavor up front is yeasty, tangy and gently sweet with a mild malt body and hint of ripe tropical fruit which leads to a more citrus and spice flavor and the bitterness comes forward in the middle. The flavor is lightly toasted in the malt dept and a slight grassy herbal element also peeks through with only a slight amount of alcohol in the flavor. The gentle citrus notes add a mild level of astringency and you get the idea there is some candy sugar as the flavor leans to the sweet side but a hint of hoppiness is still present in the finish. I liked this beer a lot, it is a satisfying and drinkable beer for the abv, I think it fits the style well -a hoppier, more American take on the tripel style which is refereshing and well brewed.

Super interesting and delicious take on the style. Brighter than expected, likely due to the job varieties. Super refreshing beyond spring!

Bottle. Pours a deep, hazy orange color with a fluffy white cottontail head. Head recedes but maintains a solid layer above the beer. Nose is light banana and clove, some pepper notes, light hoppiness, a belgian yeast is noted. Palate is heavy and full of tingles and fizziness. Very heavy palate that weighs on the tongue. Flavor is heavy on the banana and clove, more fruits like dried peaches and a light syrupyness, however it finishes fairly dry. The mouth is just coated with these fruity, stingly fizzy notes and it lingers for some time. This beer is intense, delightful, complex, wonderful. I love it.

Pours a hazy deep gold into a snifter. Bright white micro head pancakes as it recedes leaving scant spiders. Orange, lemon and yeast aromas. Sweet lemon cookie and honey upfront turning pleasantly hoppy in the lasting saaz and alcohol burn. This one’s a winner.

bottle pours deep gold with a medium white head. Aroma is candied sugar, pale malts and light alcohol. Flavor is sweet karo syrup, grassy malts, and a peppery hop finish that is super dry with only a hint of alcohol. The balance in this beer is great, one of the best triples I have had to date.

Sweet, light yellow haze with some nice white head. The aroma is beautifully lemony and lightly biscuity with some herbal deliciousness. Makes you want to dive right in. Lovely strong booziness and crisp cereals make a rustic, farmhouse brew come to life here. I really like it. These guys are my favourite Belgo/American brewery by a million miles.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared as a stunning glowing yellow that showed a slight hazing inside the liquid while a soapy layer of foam rested on top. Aroma smells traditional to a Belgian abbey tripel but I also detect a hefty whiff of hops too. The flavor comes across soapy with a pleasant amount of Belgian yeast giving off a taste of spice. This drinks smooth and is the perfect example of what the abbey tripel IPA’s should be all about. The other ones weren’t as balanced as this comes across.
