Cloudy orange pour with a 3 finger, frothy off white head. Aroma is citrus, bread, toast, caramel, cereal, a little toffee, tree fruit and spicy phenols. Flavor is sweet caramel, sweet malt, spicy phenols (a little pepper, lots of earth pie spice), light buttery toffee nuts, citrus and spicy, earthy hops. Syrupy, somewhat chewy feel throughout with a light to medium strength, blanketing carbonation. Pretty good overall, solid Tripel with no big faults other than value. It doesn’t have any effect on my score, but $14/bomber is a bit much for a decent Tripel.

This beer is a pale yellow-gold color with a medium fluffy (ha!) white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, yeast and mild citrus. Medium-bodied with flavors of grapefruit, earthy yeast and grassy hops. The finish is fruity up front with a peppery yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle shared at the Syb Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Small snifter. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a moderate one finger head that lasted about 45 seconds. Some lacing. Aroma is slight lemon, spice, Belgian yeast, bread.cereal, and hay. The taste was Belgian style yeasts, cereal, hay, lemon, hint of spices, and herbs. Light body and moderate carb. Refreshing and good.

Nice Belgian and white combo, a little chalky but smooth. Nice balance but nothing stands out too much.

ScipioA (288) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 3, 2014
Great Belgian appearance, hazy orange with a slightly tan head that lasts for ages. Banana and alcohol on the nose. Flavor is syrupy-sweet with plenty of apricot and other fruits. Not much hop presence, mostly bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick and grainy, but with too much apparent alcohol heat. This isn’t bad or offensive or anything, it just doesn’t come together well.

Bottle from Proof. Slightly hazy golden pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is bubble gum, yeast esters, Belgian candi sugars with some floral and grassy notes. Flavor is similar and sweet throughout with as grassy and floral hop bite at the end. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. Not bad.
