FRINGE AMERICAN PALE ALE is a dry, pale golden, 5.3%, hoppy pale ale using Chinook and Amarillo hops. The dryness and soft body are driven home by an almost dank Grapefruit pith character. If you just read the last sentence and thought “my goodness that doesn’t sound like a Pretty Things beer”, then this one truly is our “fringe” beer. Fringe is the sort of beer you crack a bit cool on a hot day in the yard. Don’t save it for a rainy day though – drink it now.

Floral aroma with a musky earthyness to it. Ok. Taste has that same muskyness to it. Finishes bitter and dry. It is not a bad beer, but average I would say. Some odd flavors and nothing great stands out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a large white head. Big citrus aromas, faint notes of pine and a touch of crackers. Medium bodied, soft musk and light grain with citrus and malt. Long slow finish, a bit of grain and long quinine.

Draft into a tulip glass. Mostly clear gold with lasting head retention..the aroma gets me excited! Strong grapefruit, lemon and sweet bready malt with mild herbal hints. The flavor is an exactly a mirror image of the aroma and it is damn tasty. Bitterness is mild yet lingering and very much bright grapefruit. The body is perfect for more of a " let’s drink a shit ton of this!" Kind of aspect. Very nicely crafted.

Bomber from Julio’s. Pours out a grassy light yellow color. Thin white head. Good carbonation. Light bready-citrus aromas. Flavor is very tart and bitter. Grapefruit rind notes. Very sticky finish. Not very refreshing at all.

Pours a medium golden color with a finger of foam. Nose is a mixture of toasted malts, pine, citrus. Palate follows with nice balance of hops and malt. Nothing very special just a solid easy drinking pale. Nice layers of citrus, earthy pine and a lingering bitterness that balances out the toasted grain nicely.

Grapefruit, pine, and biscuit aroma. Flavor is crisp with fruity, bitter hops and an underlying caramel malt sweetness. Bitter pine/citrus finish with a little spice. A tasty, easy-drinking beer that’s a really nice choice for a hot day.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of fruity and lightly citrusy and piney hops, pale and lightly caramel malts, hints of grains, and some dough. Flavor the same with an average texture. A solid pale ale, but I wish the amarilla hops were a little more pronounced.

Pours gold into a snifter. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Sourdough and grapefruit aromas. Medium bodied with caramel and bread upfront turning to marshmallow before the lasting earth and grapefruit finish.
