3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a golden color with a nice head and some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a little light, itís floral with some light dusty malt. Inviting and nice just not a ton going on.
The flavor is very plesantly bitter with some nice crisp malt, some leafy hoppiness and a good floral note. Simple & straightforward, but liftin pretty hard in itís own right.

Pours a lite opaque golden colour with a tall white head that fades quickly. Smells like a basil laden belgium. Very lite in on the tongue. There is a nice taste from the combination of the wheats and has a dry sweet taste.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled March 2012
Served in a Duvel tulip.
A - Pour a hazy golden color with bright white moundy head that forms a thick collar and a thin cap of micro bubbles.
S - Spicy wheat and pilsner malts, wildflower honey, dusty hay, dry and yeasty, old wood, some basement funk, floral. Funk really comes out as it warms. Lots going on here.
T - Starts sweeter than expected with juicy pear and apple fruit, dried hay, grassy and earthy bitterness comes in with a touch of basement wood. Peppery yeast, honey, and lavender are another layer and come out more as it warms. Bright citrus and notes of old bubblegum really comes out on the finish.
M - Soft and smooth body with ample carbonation. Light to medium weight. Dry finish.
Very complex beer that melds together perfectly. Lots of mellow components that when combined create a layered and complex drink thatís very tasty. Worth seeking out.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy straw with a fairly minimal head. Very Belgian aroma - estery yeasts and a lot of fruit/citrus, quite nice. The flavor is rather typical of a Saison, very yeast driven, quite fruity, with a nice caramel malt backbone and a bit of funk. Itís marred, however, by an odd sour/bitter aftertaste, which keeps it from being a top-notch beer.

I am still working on my ability to describe saisons. Love íem, but the aroma and flavor notes can be difficult to qualify. Pours pale yellow. The flavor is of a sweet yet nutty fruit with a bitter finish. Seems a bit undercarbonated for style. Bottle - Whole Foods Market Bowery - New York, NY

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy sunny golden with a fairly substantial eggshell head that leaves behind a healthy hanging lace. Nose of big spicy rustic yeast, some dust and light citrus notes, along with some herbal minty and grassy hop notes. Pretty sweet, quite bitter, with some tartness. Medium bodied, very active carb, a touch oily and syrupy, with a crisp and refreshing citric tart and bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours hazy golden with a rather small frothy and creamy white head that leaves lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is rather subtle, tiny sweet, tiny fruity and tiny spicy with crackers, grapefruit juice, hay, lemon zest, white pepper corns, lemon balm, cilantro, cereal and very subtle hints of funk. Taste is bitter, fruity and tiny spicy with crackers, cereal, grapefruit juice, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, lemongrass, hay, dry soil, white pepper corns and coriander. Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, dry and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with crackers, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, lemon balm, dry soil, hay and pepper corns. Greatly drinkable and tasty. Perfect with the smoked salmon we tried it with.
