COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

Just got this in at Olive Tree Market in OB--$8.99 a bomber. Looks like it was bottled in July 2012--what the hell? why is this just getting into California. Stupid distributors. Yep, upon first popping the cap, I get some dying hops. Lame. Slightly hazy yellow gold with a 1 1/2 finger off-white head, good retention. Despite being a couple months old, there is still some good resiny pineapple and Citra hops, some lightly toasty malts behind. Flavor adds a bit of herbal hops and still has the aforementioned good hop flavor, but also the old hops. Just a little bit of malt sweetness is tempered by bitterness that peaked at a 7 in the semi-dry finish, earthy. Medium body with light smooth carbonation. I bet this would’ve been quite tasty if I had a fresher bottle--no complaints other than the age.

Bomber from Craft Beer Cellar in Brandon. Orange-gold pour with a solid foamy white head. Aroma is sweet bready caramel and pine hops. Tastes follow suit with honey, yeast, floral, spice, toasty. Fruit comes through late in the light dry finish. It’s interesting, but more sweet biscuity than I go for in IPA.

A- Pours a deep orangey hue with 2 fingers of head that fades quickly. S- Hints of citrus, faint wheat notes. T- Bitter grapefruit hard up front and through the middle. Finish carries a wave of malt rounded out by a sharp bitterness. M- Medium bodied with ample carbonation. D- Decent IPA.

De color naranja, luminosa. Espuma blanca de retención media. Aromas suaves a frutas tropicales, fondo terroso y algo de miel. Cuerpo medio, resinosa. Gasificación media. En boca tropical, amarga pero también está presente la malta. El alcohol no se nota. Regusto ligeramente amargo. Muy equilibrada. Espectacular la etiqueta. Un cervezón!!

Slightly hazy straw yellow. Fruity slight pine hop smell. Pine hop taste big and lingers after the sip is gone.

Pours hazy amber with a small fading head. Nose shows honey, sweet malt, grassy hops and some floral notes. More grassy and piny hops as flavours along with some soft clean malt leading to a dry, sharp finish. Carbonation seems a little extreme.

Slightly hazy golden amber pour. Big rocky, fluffy head. Lots of retention. Nice orange, lemon, floral aroma. A little honeyed malt. Flavor really moves in two directions. Crackers and toast give a big malt foundation. Hops are bright, citrusy and fruity. Hops and malt meet in the middle for a bit of red fruit as well. Bitterness is quite full but somewhat soft. It give a nice hop resin feel that coats the mouth. Complexity and flavors are both there. Could be a bit brighter and explosive. Nevertheless, tasty, well structured and drinkable.

Liked this one because of quite high maltiness, caramel and great citrus fruity hops combo. Sweet balanced with nice bittersweetness and decent bitter finish. Nice balance, not your everyday boring IPA

Bottle to glass. Pours a mostly clear golden to light copperish orange color with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is an interesting hop character, with citrus, tropical fruits, and a hint of spice. Flavor is a well-balanced moderate bitterness with fruity sweetness. Light to medium in body with a lingering funky, but tasty, hop note. Fantastic beer from a brewery I had never heard of.
