COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2014 For the most part I think this is a great beer. The aroma is a very pleasant floral and earthy while the flavor tended more towards peppery than the soft floral notes their website alleges. I was glad for this. The mouthfeel seemed a bit thinner than I’d like and there was a distinct, although minor fruity-sourness to the finish. The joy of Galaxy hops is a bit hidden in the pepper/spice and floral notes of the flavor. Although there is a touch of citrus/orange for contrast, the less common notes of passionfruit were undetectable.

On tap at Cugino’s. It poured a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma was of citrus and grass. It had a medium body with light carbonation. The taste was of citrusy hops with some bitterness and a little sweetness with a good malt balance. Good stuff.

Tap: semi clear gold color. Lemony aroma with some grass in there. Hoppy flavors with some wet wood notes. Pretty good.

4/29/15. 22oz bottle from Chan’s - Destin side. This was getting close to the best by date... age seemed to be showing. Orange pour with a small khaki head, mild lacing. Mild dank hops, citrus, grainy pale malts, old hops. Bitter flavor, a bit chalky, aspirin, floral, citrus, grainy. Meh.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Slightly hazy medium amber with a generous four-finger rocky white head, dots and spots of lace. Strong aroma of citrus mixed with light hops. Taste is sweet floral malt that smoothly moves to a swallow that is both carbonated and hoppy. Citrus is in high evidence, but it’s not enough to run over the malt. Although it is definitely an IPA, malt gets its due, and is the prevailing taste at the end. Really good stuff.

On tap at the International Tap House in Chesterfield. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma is pine with slight biter orange peel. Some chocolate or toffee on the back end. Interesting beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at mugs. A little odd but interesting brew. Strong umami note, with some lemon and chardonnay. Hop bitterness comes on strong in the finish. Lace film on glass. Good.

On tap at Lord Hobo. Pours a hazy golden with a small white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of tropical fruits and pine, pleasing. Taste is moderately bitter and "wheaty" (not sure of my audio notes on this one). A little sweet but only to support that bitterness. Easy drinking with a moderate body and a high carbonation. Nice one!

Bottle. Golden, cloudy, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, some caramel and some light bread with some tropical fruitiness, citrus and grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and fruitiness, piney and light grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel and faint fruitiness, lots of citrus - piney hoppyness. Really nice bitterness, but too much caramel for me/not dry enough.

Clear, light amber, lacy. Medium body, flat mouthfeel, definite but simple and uncharming flavor and finish. Bitter, dry. Grapefruit, floral, supported by a hint of honey. Strong but not very appealing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
