COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2014 For the most part I think this is a great beer. The aroma is a very pleasant floral and earthy while the flavor tended more towards peppery than the soft floral notes their website alleges. I was glad for this. The mouthfeel seemed a bit thinner than I’d like and there was a distinct, although minor fruity-sourness to the finish. The joy of Galaxy hops is a bit hidden in the pepper/spice and floral notes of the flavor. Although there is a touch of citrus/orange for contrast, the less common notes of passionfruit were undetectable.

This is one of my favorite IPAs. Not dry, not overly bitter. Perfect amount of hoppiness. Very drinkable

Bottle. Pours murky orange with thick white head that lingers. Pine resin flavor that isn't too overwhelming. Marginal complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice and light. Grassy hops, with a light malt base with a touch of wheat.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a transparent gold with foamy white head. Smells of juicy hops with a bit of well-balanced sweetness from the malt bill. Tastes like it smells with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Could be dryer, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Appearance: this beer pours with a large pretty white head, the head settles very quickly, the beer is an average golden color, hazy, laces nicely Aroma: pine, grass, light bread, Taste: bitter initially, followed by a strong caramel malt sweetness, bitter aftertaste, Palate: heavy mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste, average carbonation Overall: a good ipa, I feel it needs a little more to differentiate itself from other Ipas, strong malt and bitter balance ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Clear golden orange with wonderful nose of evergreen and citrus. Tastes of rich pine, caramel, orange rind, resin, touch of aerosol spray but quite nice. High carbonated and drying finish.

Bottle... Hazy peach-colored pour with a mid-sized, white head. Decent retention. The aroma consists of stone fruits and resin. Medium to full-bodied with pillow-soft carbonation. This baby is bursting at-the-seams with generic, rindy bitterness. Bitter for the sake of being bitter. No true lupulin flavor. Just bitter. Did I mention “bitter?” Lengthy, crisp, medium-bitter finish. Bottle courtesy of otakuden!

Pour is clear golden with a thick white frothy head. Nose is tropical fruits with some grassy hops and malty sweetness. Strong pine bitterness with fruity esthers in the mouth. Tastes almost more than 7 ABV. Strong malt backbone with caramel notes without being too sweet. Great IPA with a good balance between fruity hops and malty sweetness!

Beautiful in the glass clear medium golden ample white fine foam, malty biscuit taste and aroma, honey, bit of herbal citric aroma, pancakes, slight bitterness creeping, finishing astringency.
