Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2015 For the most part I think this is a great beer. The aroma is a very pleasant floral and earthy while the flavor tended more towards peppery than the soft floral notes their website alleges. I was glad for this. The mouthfeel seemed a bit thinner than I’d like and there was a distinct, although minor fruity-sourness to the finish. The joy of Galaxy hops is a bit hidden in the pepper/spice and floral notes of the flavor. Although there is a touch of citrus/orange for contrast, the less common notes of passionfruit were undetectable.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent golden orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The weak aroma was hoppy. The mild citrus crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of citrus and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 22 oz bomber. Slight haze to the medium golden pour, off-white thin head, nice film of lacing. Nice pleasant minty and light spruce aroma, Solid IPA flavor with some sharp citrus bitterness, light cake mix sweetness, a hint of coriander spiciness. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Pretty decent. Nice to see this brewer makes it way to North Florida.

From the 650 ml. bottle Heady amber pour. The aroma is clean and crisp with a focus on sweet toasted malts. Not a ton of hops here. OK body in the medium The body is the medium range. The taste has a decent hop Basically balanced.character with that caramel malt note The hops do kick in but they are not overwhelming. Basically balanced.

Bottle. Moderate roasted grain for the malt, moderate to heavy grapefruit and orange juice for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with a note of pepper. Palate is average size, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky dark amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes faintly sweet and bitter and lightly acidic. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation. Nice citrus aromas and refreshing flavors make this a perfect summertime IPA.

Draught. Clear rich yellow with medium sized creamy white head, floral aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish fruity taste, long finish with perfume like flavor. Too fragrant and not hoppy enough.

On tap at Cugino’s. It poured a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma was of citrus and grass. It had a medium body with light carbonation. The taste was of citrusy hops with some bitterness and a little sweetness with a good malt balance. Good stuff.
