Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

Just got this in at Olive Tree Market in OB--$8.99 a bomber. Looks like it was bottled in July 2012--what the hell? why is this just getting into California. Stupid distributors. Yep, upon first popping the cap, I get some dying hops. Lame. Slightly hazy yellow gold with a 1 1/2 finger off-white head, good retention. Despite being a couple months old, there is still some good resiny pineapple and Citra hops, some lightly toasty malts behind. Flavor adds a bit of herbal hops and still has the aforementioned good hop flavor, but also the old hops. Just a little bit of malt sweetness is tempered by bitterness that peaked at a 7 in the semi-dry finish, earthy. Medium body with light smooth carbonation. I bet this would’ve been quite tasty if I had a fresher bottle--no complaints other than the age.

Pours a golden amber from a bottle with a thick pillowy white head, slowly dissipating leaving lots of lacing. Nose is intensely floral with a touch of hay. Flavor is also floral, but starting to throw in a bit of fruits, like peaches in syrup kind of a thing. Sweet but not cloying, ending on a bitter note. Full mouthfeel, slightly oily but not in a bad way. Very good beer.

This draft beer has a small off-white head with a short retention, transparent golden body, no visible carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is malt, citrus hops, floral, and fruity. The flavor of this beer is moderately bitter, citrus hops, fruity, floral, and malt. The mouthfeel is smooth and this is a medium bodied beer. This is a quaffable IPA that is not overly bitter or hoppy tasting.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 8/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fair amount of dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent east coast IPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent golden orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The weak aroma was hoppy. The mild citrus crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of citrus and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 22 oz bomber. Slight haze to the medium golden pour, off-white thin head, nice film of lacing. Nice pleasant minty and light spruce aroma, Solid IPA flavor with some sharp citrus bitterness, light cake mix sweetness, a hint of coriander spiciness. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Pretty decent. Nice to see this brewer makes it way to North Florida.

From the 650 ml. bottle Heady amber pour. The aroma is clean and crisp with a focus on sweet toasted malts. Not a ton of hops here. OK body in the medium The body is the medium range. The taste has a decent hop Basically balanced.character with that caramel malt note The hops do kick in but they are not overwhelming. Basically balanced.

Bottle. Moderate roasted grain for the malt, moderate to heavy grapefruit and orange juice for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with a note of pepper. Palate is average size, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky dark amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes faintly sweet and bitter and lightly acidic. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation. Nice citrus aromas and refreshing flavors make this a perfect summertime IPA.
