Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

Just got this in at Olive Tree Market in OB--$8.99 a bomber. Looks like it was bottled in July 2012--what the hell? why is this just getting into California. Stupid distributors. Yep, upon first popping the cap, I get some dying hops. Lame. Slightly hazy yellow gold with a 1 1/2 finger off-white head, good retention. Despite being a couple months old, there is still some good resiny pineapple and Citra hops, some lightly toasty malts behind. Flavor adds a bit of herbal hops and still has the aforementioned good hop flavor, but also the old hops. Just a little bit of malt sweetness is tempered by bitterness that peaked at a 7 in the semi-dry finish, earthy. Medium body with light smooth carbonation. I bet this would’ve been quite tasty if I had a fresher bottle--no complaints other than the age.

I would actually describe the hops here as more "resin" than "floral". They are sticky and lingering, but without a ton of bitterness. Strong malt character for an IPA, which I like. Bread and cereal to take some of the edge off the hops and add body.

Hazy orange pour with an off-white head. Aromas of citrus peel and floral hops with notes of mango and pineapple. The flavor is good, but not nearly as impressive as the aroma. Not overly bitter, pretty easy to drink. Crisp finish. Very sessionable.

Sample at Boulevardia 2014. Comes a somewhat cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and malt. Taste is grapefruit, pineapple, malt, pine, and grass. Well made IPA.

Bottle pour. Very citrusy on the nose. Pours a cloudy orange. Medium bitterness, nice hops, a little flat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Proof. Bright, clear golden pour with a frothy white head. Ruby red grapefruit, tangerine, grass and floral hop nose with a light pale honey malt backbone. Flavor is similar and very juicy, smooth palate and carbonation with a lengthy bitter finish. It’s tasty.

Bottle thanks to my friend Johnny: Poured a hazy golden with white head. Aroma was dank buddy hops. Taste is light hops and grain. I feel that this was a bit past its prime and had fallen off, just by the overall hops character.

Bottle from Beergium.com. Amber, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, sticky, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, flowers, pineapple, berries, grass, pine, biscuit. Taste with the same aromas, with a nice, smooth malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry, with grapefruit, pine and some berries. Tasty! Pretty bitter, but still very well balanced with both, lots of fruits and smooth malt notes, crisp and easy to drink. Great IPA!

22 oz. bottled shared by my son on Father’s Day. Pours deep gold with a two finger white head which eventually settles out to a thin cap with nice lace. Aroma is citrus, towards the grapefruit side, with a solid pale malt back bone. Initial bitter bite calms down after a couple sips to a more fruity hop flavor, which, same as the aroma, is backed by a solid biscuit malt back ground. Simple, but well done. Light, not heavy and resinous, like some of the better IPAs. Somewhat dry finish.

Bomber bottle, 650ml size I think. Looked pretty nice. Hops we're going a bit floral, tropical and resinous here, and I didn't think the malt held up to them. Still seemed very well made, just not my ideal combination. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy golden orange with medium small white head. Aroma citrus, grassy hops. Medium body. Light carbonation. Piney citrusy hop flavor, mostly bitter but some sweetness, good malt balance, good drinkability. Nice.
