Bomber. Poured dark, clear brown with a disappearing head. Lightly sweet and cocoa aroma. Flavor complex salt with chocolate and toast. Overall a restrained, sophisticated and mature brew. Lovely.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a deep and lightly hazed brown with a medium to large sized beige head. Soft roast and a bit of dusty hops on the nose. Lots of thick malt and toast with some lovely chocolate hints. A bit on the bigger side of medium bodied. Large cocoa and roast. For a beer that’s just under 7% this drinks like a much bigger beer. Not in a bad way at all, there’s just a ton of body and thickness here. Loads of roast with some sweet dusty cocoa and a bit of prune. A nice touch of banana in the yeast moves toward a finish that lingers with cocoa and roasted malt. Lovely.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roast, nuts, and some dark fruit in the aroma. Flavor starts rich, sweet, and malty. Finish is sweet and spicy with a fair amount of drying alcohol. Different and good, but if you don’t like sweet beers, stay away.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Meadhall. The beer pours to a glowing mahogany body with a lasting creamy off white head. Amazing lacing. The aroma is dark fruits and yeasts. Kind of reminds me of some dunkels. Flavor is quite malty with a light bitterness and tobacco. Medium body that lingers.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ Meadhall, Cambridge, MA. Reddish color with thick egg shell white head. Smells is very malty, a little Smokey. I had to let this beer warm and hopefully open up. It kind of didn’t…. Flavor is malty with light caramel, hints of nuts, light toffee, and light peat. Something about the flavor was real restrained. It just tasted bland. I love Pretty things as a brewery maybe I will have to give this another try at some point.

Pours deep brown into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Dark caramel aromas. Medium bodied with molasses and pit fruit upfront turning to warming chocolate and sour licorice in the lasting finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had been served from the tap for $7.00 ten or so minutes after Lord Hobo opened its doors at 4:30 pm. To tulip, it pours a darkish, blackness-tinted ruby-rose-red: frothy cream vanilla head; it had left beautiful lace. Aromas of soy beans, caramel, mint, almonds, noble hops, and salted butter. Tastes the same, with additions of raisins by mid-palate, and earthiness and yeast by swallow. Not bad, not bad at all.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle from Julios. Pours out a deep clear ruby brown with a frothy tan head. Light bubbly carbonation. Very good looking. Aroma is light and roasty, but not overly hoppy or sweet. Flavor is very smooth. Deep rich malts, but superbly balanced too. Not too sweet. Hops are barely noticable, but I bet there’s a lot in here to keep the sweetness in check. Velvety smooth. Lingering bubblegum finish. A super sipper!
