4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep black-brown pour with a lot of haziness and some definite cloudiness. The aroma is really quite hoppy with lots of earthy resinous character. Lots of herbaceousness over a heavy dark chocolate malt base. Earthy and richly aromatic with a lot of roasty character. Soft palate with a nice bready yeastiness to the palate. There is an almost rosemary contribution from these leafy hops. Soft palate and a lot of lingering bitterness. Very tasty stuff. Very black IPA-ish. I guess like all fashion, whatís old is new.

Smoky nose with toasted malts coming through. Huge tan head and murky chestnut color to the beer itself. Nice bitterness through and through. Yum.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Quite impressive porter. Pours dark brown with a yellow-hued head. Could almost classify as a stout in taste: rich mouthfeel; coffee notes; roasted malt backbone. Overall, an incredibly solid beer.

The beer is cola brown with a thin, broken, beige head. The aroma offers coffee, roast, brown sugar. Ok flavor. A tad harsh. Coffee bitterness with lingering charred roast. Moderately low carbonation. Pretty good.
