3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle... medium bright brown with a yellowish tan head, lasting lace... the aroma was a bit dead, molasses, caramel, alcohol... this needs some time, this was really hot, way too much alcohol, a bit of brown sugar, dark fruits, a bit of chalk, nothing wrong with it, just didnít really impress me, needed to be sweeter to hide the alcohol

Tap at Rail Trail, big english body lots of malty not quite chewy but almost definitely coating perhaps oily, taste is more of the same with slight hints of burn if you chug too fast as the bar is closing.. big drink.. but not all that much flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at Julios New England Craft Beer Fest. This is a big, I mean BIG beer yet despite the crazy high ABV it has only a slight alcohol taste. The bigger flavors are caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, and oak among many other flavors. Very complex.

22oz bottle in Queens. Deep ruby/purple brown. Caramel, coffee, deep fruitiness. Some rich alcohol notes throughout, but smooth and tasty chocolate and coffee malts and a bit of balancing hop bite. Rich and refined, perfect dessert.
