Batch 4 - bottled December 09. Sweet caramel and light roast aroma, slight butterscotch, emit from the impressively frothy head. Deep ruby when held up to the light, otherwise nicely brown. Impressive array of flavors - some cherry-like tang, light roast, deep caramel and a fruity/citric hop tinge. Very crisp and easily quaffed with a tart quality from the yeast. Calling this a brown ale does not do this justice - it has little in the way of chocolate malts and is damn impressive.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2014 Bottle. Pours dark mahogany brown, tiny but very nice beige head. Aroma is fruity berries, marmalade and caramel. Slight toasty malt. Taste is medium sweet, caramel and toasted. Some nuts too. Really smooth texture. Medium to low bitter finish. A good fruity brown. Reminds me of studentermix.

Bottle @ Home. Thanks Lukas. Slightly hazy, medium thick off white head, nice lacing. Aroma, malty, nutty, roasted notes, caramel, light hop notes. Similar taste. Nutty, roasted aftertaste. Oily mouth feel.

"Not wild or funky, but definitely different than a normal brown. On the sweet malty side. Little hop presence. Yeasty like a Belgian brown with some fruit and nutiness, otherwise pretty tame. Not bad, but doubtful ill revisit."

@ Mikkeller Stockholm 14-9-20: något diskret doft men en mycket trevlig smak och fin fyllighet. Fina lite heta kolatoner, toffee och med en liten fruktig underton. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Pours a clear light brown, looking dark brown in the glass. A nice and creamy looking tanned head. Heavy malty on the nose with almonds and nuts. Well balanced taste, I get hints of chocolate, malty caramel and nuts. Pretty nice and well rounded. Mouthfeel is actually quite crisp and the co2 is medium to high.

Gathers a 1-finger mocha head above a tar/mahogany body. Aroma of raisins, roasted malt, liquorice, toast. Hint of nuts. In keeping with the British interpretation of Brown-Ales. Unfortunately reminds me of the stale beer of pubs of yesteryear. Taste is malt, bread, brown sugar. Belgian influence perhaps. Creamy. Hop-bitters in the finish. No flavor just bitterness and some roasted coffee (yuk to the latter).

Bottle. Deep brown body with a frothy, beige head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of roasted grain, nuts, caramel. Note of fruit and a hint of metal. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Dry finish. Nuts, roast and caramel tastes. Nice balance of a malty beer with bittering hops.
