3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml heavy-glassed bottle into tulip glass. Pours translucent amber-brown with a medium sized off white head. Aroma is dominated by the sweet toasted malts with hints of apples, plums and liquourice. Palate is rich and smooth with a medium body and carbonation and those sweet toasted malt flavours before finishing with a subtle sourness and a slightly burnt aftertaste of good duration. Overall very nice and well balanced but I thought it was a little pricy for a locally produced beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Well this is a break from the standard Otway look and feel. Pours with a deep amber colour with mammoth white head. Aroma is mixed spices and a hint of malt. Flavour is superb, initial bursts of spice, banana and sweet malt, this transitions to a drying finish of dark sugar and almost raisin/molasses finish. Very enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (750ml) Cellared for 8 months. Poured hazy burnt copper with a large, dense, foamy, lightly tanned head which lasted well. Aroma was of barnyard hay with green apples, sour dough, prunes, caramelized dates, allspice and light notes of powdered ginger. Flavor was a mild (pleasant) acidic bitterness with straw, caramel, dried pineapple, dry pears, figs, muscatels, allspice, white pepper and a woody finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a lightly acidic mouthfeel and a good length finish. Very well balanced Biere De Garde.
