Near black colour, thick light tan head; roast, cream, black toffee, raisins aroma; very sweet/bitterish taste with black toffee, caramel, chocolate, dates and coffee aromas; bitter finish with liquorice, treacle, black toffee, raisins and coffee aromas. A wonderfully rich and malty beer, which is big and bold in a quite un-lagery way. The label proclaims it as "tmavý porter" or dark porter. I’m not sure that’s what it is, but who gives a fig - it’s still a great beer. Well worth seeking out.

This is an extremely sweet beer with minimal hops. It’s very smooth and extremely sugary. I would buy it again if I wanted a non hopped drink.

Primator Double Bock, 16.9floz/500ml bottle into a Samuel Adams glass; served cold. Aroma: Malty, boozy. Chocolate and caramel. Sherry. Appearance: Near opaque dark ruby body with a creamy, tan head. Taste: Oooooooooooh yeah, good and boozy; there’s no subtlety here. Tastes like a nice oloroso sherry. So much caramel flavor. It’s almost identical to Samichlaus, but more malty and less sweet. Palate: So rich and smooth. A nice warming, boozy finish. Overall: At work I have walked right by this beer for months. SO MUCH WASTED TIME. This is a truly fantastic doppelbock.

Cinnamon-hued brown with finely-beaded mocha fondant foam. Mouthwqtering Toffee, plum/prune, dough, pouncake, and Twinkies aroma. Sweet but not cloying… rich, rich malt flavor… hints of cocoa and kirsch, tobacco, and (drool) tawny port. Abv is gently warming and tingly on yhe tongue. Mild bitterness remains in the background. Although full and sticky, the palate befits the beer’s heft. OMFG. World class.

This is a very sweet beer with a mild amount of bitterness. It is a very good beer overall if you are not drinking it to get drunk. It is very sweet, and i am not usually fond of sweet beers but this one is actually very good due to how much taste and depth it has. I suggest it paired with something bitter to complement its sweetness, like a strong cheese pairing. Also, I would note, i dont suggest drinking two, again its very sweet and heavy!

Strong, malty aroma has an overtone of caramel and hints of horehound and apple. It pours a barely translucent dark coppery brown with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, light tan head. Mouth-filling malty flavor has a strong caramel overtone and is rather sweet but not cloying. I get hints of apple, hops, and - is that butterscotch? The subtle bitterness offsets the sweetness somewhat. Full-bodied texture has a fairly strong and persistent fizz that leaves a tingly, sweet, subtly hoppy-bitter finish. If you like bocks, I heartily recommend this one.

doublebock (491) - California, USA - OCT 28, 2010
Brown-ruby color with white head. Scotch like ester aroma. Very sweet, syrupy texture with molasses, cola, and raisins. Not much hops to speak of and a tad bit flat. For $2.99 for a 500ml bottle this is a fantastic value and a great find for doublebock fanatics like me. .

pavelociped (12) - Budapest, HUNGARY - AUG 25, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2011 Amikor a komló a szirup szolgálóleánya! Dió-, csoki-, szilva- és kávélikőr ez, olyan a sörpalettán, mint a borok közt a portói, desszertsör, ami mellé már a sütemény is felesleges, mert az fel van oldva benne, mint... a kékítő az ég vizében. * When hop becomes the handmaid of malt syrup, this is the result! This beer is like a walnut, chocolate, plum and coffee liqueur. This beer is like port – it’s a dessert beer, and you don’t even have to eat a cake with it, because the cake is already dissolved in the beer.

Bottle. Dark brown with an orangey glow and a creamy, beige head. Durable foam. Very full body - huge body - really "heavy" beer. Sweetish aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, strong caramel overtone and is rather sweet but not cloying. The subtle bitterness offsets the sweetness, bitter finish with liquorice, treacle, black toffee, raisins and coffee aromas, complex taste! Heartily recommend this one.
