*** CZECH BEER # 500 *** bottle from Billa Namesti republiky, the last bottle tucked away in a crate of Gambrihnus. Clear deep golden colour, persistent white head, nice hoppy nose. Bitter-sweet. Good, solid malty base with a decent portion of Saaz hops. Bitter-sweet, typical Czech flavour. A good 11°! *** CZECH BEER # 500 *** ČESKÉ PIVO JE NEJLEPŠÍ *** AT’ ŽIJE TO PRAVÉ ČESKÉ PIVO *** NA ZDRAVÍ ***

Bottle: Deep golden, some tiny floaties visible, creamy and lacy off-white head, sticking to the glass; typical "bohemian" nose: aromatic hoppy, buttery and pale malty; moderate bitter-sweet flavour; slightly lingering hoppy and pale-malty finish. Good.....

Draught@Pivovarsky Klub, Praha. Bright golden body. Two-finger, white head. Initial aroma of grassy and earthy hops, followed by a faint scent og grainy malts. Taste is soft malty, bready, light doughy. Bold, grassy hop bitterness. Medium to light body. Lasting, hoppy finish. Good stuff.

judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 13, 2010
Appearance: Clear golden color with quite creamy, fingerwide, fluffy, white head. Metionable lacing around the glass. Aroma: Fresh bread-crust, cereal, straw, some buttery yeasty accent, and slight grassy hops. Flavor: Gives a very grainy and cereal-malty impression. Some buttery, oily yeasty components from the background with limited grassy hop character at the end. Palate: Medium body with decent yeasty-texture and moderate, but lively carbonation. Overall impression: Good example of standard 11% Czech light lagers. Pure, tasty and refreshing without any extra special character.

Bottle. Gold, decent white head. Medium bead for a pils. Slightly grainy sweet and sour aroma dominated earthy hops. Taste has some firm grainy malt with quite a lot of lager sourness, then solid bitterness. Modest bitter finish has some earth and spice. Lacks that luscious mouthfeel you sometime get from these beers, but otherwise pretty solid.
