Listed as a dark lager and definitely drinks like one. Big flavours for a sub 5% beer. Chocolate and coffee are dominate and the finish is oily and reasonably smooth. Big, bold and flavourful. Would be an excellent winter lager for those looking for a bit less heft than a doppelbock.

was hoping it would be a Munich dunkel when I bought it, guess not. 500ml brown bottle. It pours a cola brown with a foamy head that leaves cobwebs of lacing. The smell is interesting, it almost has the smell of ovaltine, but with a slap of bread and honey. The hops, like in the other primator brews, were up front and herbal/grassy/medicinal. In this particular brew, they could have done without the hop in the aroma. The flavor is okay, the hops are overbearing with herbal character, it kind of ruins the already weak taste. The primator beers are just hopped in the wrong way for me. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-05-2010 03:40:21

Bottled, 500ml from Tesco in Plzen. Mid brown with slight head. Wet card aroma leading to a thin bodied malty beer with a damp rug note. Some caramel sweetness, slight hints of roastiness, carbonated. A little dull.

Primator Premium Dark 0,33 cl, 110118. Pours clear deep mahogany with red tones. Big fluffy tanned head leaving lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, hay and caramel. Lean malty mouthfeel. Crispy, malty, syrupy, bread and fruity acidy flavor. Acidy and sweet malty palate. Finishes sweet fruity turning into tart bitter aftertaste.

ALLOVATE (2840) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2011
Bright, shimmering, deepest, darkest ruby body crowned off by a lax tannish pad that is quick to fade. Dusty and musty forest-floor nose, a little rust and ’Vegemite’, soft and subtle. Slight prickle upfront otherwise this is creamy in the mouth, the body relatively light. Mild smoke, burnt wood and roasted cacao bean flavours dominate. Light cola soda and milk chocolate sweetness upfront, very dry from there on in, a little hint of nuts comes through mid-palate. Swallow is relatively short, some burnt wood and dust. Shows very little bitterness but has a good whack of pepper in the back. Very simple, clean-cut Dunkler lager. Sessionable but it fades from memory quickly!
