1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Wow, this is some sickly sweet stuff. The aroma is OK, some fusels, some fields/hay. The head dies in an unhealthy display borne of too much alcohol. The flavor packs high alcohol heat and an over-the-top sweetness that is just gross. Rubber cement flavors. Slight bitterness, large sweetness. Could not finish.

500ml bottle. Bright golden orange colour wiith a steady even layer of off white foam. A mixture of aromas ranging from malt to rockmelon. Strong alcohol flavour that leads into a silky texture and creamy mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
The 21° Rytířský is definitely not a session beer – unless of course you want your session to end early that is – it is 9% ABV! It pours dark golden with a huge white head. The nose is quite delicate, with all the hallmark notes of Saaz hops. In the mouth however it is rather sweet and the mouthfeel distinctly syrupy although the slight bitterness comes through in the end, only to be smothered at the last.

Clear orangey golden body with short head. Sugar on the aroma with the taste grainy, buttery and fairly sweet. Could finish a 500ml bottle but didn’t really want another.

Bottle. Clear orangeish amber pour with a fluffy white head that doesn’t last long. Sweet, malty nose has notes of caramel, orange brandy, cherries and sugar. Flavour is similar with lots of sweetness and notes of caramel and cherries standing out and a little bit of alcohol warmth coming through. Slick, oily mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a lingering sweet finish. Overall this is a little too sweet but otherwise not a bad strong lager.
