4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Love the four leaf clover on the lid! So difficult to rouse I honestly thought this was still on the pour. It settles with an almost naturally cask conditioned head, a flaccid, short tannish island, very fine bubbles arise to it. The body a deepest, darkest, brownish black. Ashen, dusty, chocolate, mocha nose, simple yet alluring. So soft, smooth, creamy and full in the mouth, are these guys taking the piss! Smoky, delicate, good earthiness, light peat with overtones of milk chocolate and burnt, bitter sugars, yum! Long, long finish is all malt and smoke, nicely bitter just on the swallow, again some heavily roasted cacao beans, maybe a little coffee bean too. This is just heaven for a session stout. I’ll have to get another bottle of this to compare as it just feels so good in the mouth. I think these guys nailed a Dry Stout word for word. It’s presence in the mouth is wonderful, its flavour just holds so long. I love it! (50cL, BB 10/03/11, The Beer Store Morley)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

6+ treacly flapjack aroma. Some cakeiness, some bread and butter, a hint of cocoa
4 Deep brown, almost black. Tiny head
7 Jeebus, this is a real stout. OK a touch on the sweet side, but not actually sweet.
4 Full palate, carbonation low. Lovely bread and butter finish.
13 Oh, I like this. I think I may have under-rated it.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle. Cola black in colour and it takes a minute for the thin sandy head to from. Dry burnt malt aroma with a hint of caramel fudge. While it looks quite thick and hearty in the glass it is a bit thin and watery in the mouth which leaves you a bit disappointed. Tasted quite flat and given that the Primator Dark I had a few days ago was very good I was expecting more from this. Not too bad all the same.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Rated @ 26.6.2009.
Pours a dark brown colour with a decent white head. Aroma of toasted malts, dry hops and very disturbing diacetyl. Flavour of chocolate and toasted malts. Medium bodied with a thin mouthfeel. Decent dry stout and would be lot better without the diacetyl.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
pours thick and smooth, with a light brown head, which is rocky and long lasting. This is a very nice beer, with evident coffee flavours and a full body.
