Taste is roasty, caramel, chocolate, more towards bitter than sweet. Aftertaste is mildly dry. Nice beer but not exceptional. 7-4-6-4-11 Re-rated on 24.2.2013: Bottle. Pours dark brown to red with nice tan lasting head. Aroma is roasty, fresh milk, caramel, hint of some licorice perhaps. Flavor is roasty, caramel, chocolate, fresh milk. Smooth palate. Aftertaste is slightly dry. This beer grew up on me. I usually have a few bottles at home and enjoy it quite often. 7-4-6-4-13

50 cl bottle (4,7%). BBE 25.12.2012.
Pours deep dark red color with a medium-sized, off-white head. Aroma of mildly burnt malts, caramel, some fruits and chocolate notes. Flavor of chocolate, burnt malts, ash, mild fruits and hints of caramel. Dry malty and a bit bitter fruity palate with a dry finish. Decent.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2012 From the bottle. Brown, coffee, chocolate, malt, all roasted. Touch thin but a really solid if not particularly special stout.

(Bottle) Very dark, almost black colour, with frothy pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate, dark rye bread and a touch of cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark bread, chocolate, a touch of raisins and hints of tobacco or ashes. Dry finish with a gentle, roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Not extraordinary, but a well made, solid and tasty dry stout. Nice one.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2012 Love this stout. More complex over the known. Great head when served on the warm side and such character on the taste and palate. All said... roasted coffee, little wooden oak, dry fruits of plum. nice adjusted bitterness that tastes quality from czech. Drinkable is just right if you want at least 2. Not heavy at all.

tfredvik (1501) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 10, 2012
Black body with a rather small, frothy, light-brown, short-lived head that laces the glass well. Although the head looks a bit sad compared to the dense nitro pillow of the Dry Stout Which Must Not Be Named, the fluffy head enables the very pleasant and quite strong aroma to escape from the beer. The aroma is sweet, dark roasted coffee and dark fruits of the slightly over-ripe kind. The taste is also quite sweet and the dry finish is long-lasting and has a moderate bitterness. The flavour is rather strong, with the same dark roasted coffee notes as in the aroma, while the fruity notes are a bit less over-ripe. The body is light and the texture is close to watery, but still it feels quite smooth. A nice, clean and very drinkable beer that has a slightly better mouthfeel that the most watery dry stouts.
[50 cl bottle, enjoyed 3 months after BB date, from Jacobs pĺ Holtet, Oslo]
