Bottle. There’s a reddish hue on the dark, dark brown body, a small, brown to dark beige head sits on top, leaving some lacings. Roasted, toasted, coffee-ish aroma, not much fruityness, some dried fruits though. A touch of butterscotch in the far back. Roasted, coffee-ish flavor with dried fruits and some notes of butterscotch. Full-bodied and smooth. Roasted finish. Overall, sure a nice one, but I’d prefer a touch more bitterness. 110917

Bottle at Voldby Řlmesse. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moedrate malty and light hoppy aroma. Burnt roasted notes. Average slightly roasted finish. Oily palate.

Sevenlee (1515) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - AUG 19, 2011
Pours totally black with a very small beige head. Aroma is very roasted malt and little else. Taste is also hard roasted malt with the slightest hint of chocolate. Quite watery and lacking any complexity. Didn’t really like this one much at all.

Dark brown and pretty flat - took a lot of work to get any head at all. Chocolatey-fudgey aroma of industrial stout. Thin and vaguely coffeeish. A little bit like an Asian iced coffee - Pokka Charcoal or something like that. Industrial stout, never really comes together.

0.5 L bottle, bought @Centra, Colosseum, Oslo. A black beer with ruby highlights. Medium-sized, dense sand-colored head. Crisp aroma of ashy dark malts and cocoa. Clean malt flavor. Dryish cocoa/unsweetened black chocolate. A fresh sourish note and suggestions of wood and dark dried fruits. Medium to light in body weight. Easy on the palate. Powdery mouthfeel. Dry, mild roasty and ashy malt ending. Good stuff!

Gr0ve (2173) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 1, 2011
500 ml bottle. Black with hints of ruby at the edges. Medium-sized fine-laced beige head that clings to the glass. Clean roasted aroma with delicate phenolics. Hints of sausages. Chocolate and a little ash. Nice roasted character. Quite dry, but with a rich body. The ash runs through the middle and lingers all way towards the end. Crisp dry easy-going hop bitterness. Smooth texture. I like this one a lot. Very drinkable.
