3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 estpiwo (1086) - ESTONIA - JAN 14, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown color, creamy foam. Soury, malty aroma. And some fruity notes in aroma also. Caramel, coffee, malts, some fruits maybe in taste. Flavor little bit sour, but it was not bad, it was interesting. Bitter aftertaste. Nice.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (5545) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 13, 2012
In short: A refreshing fruity stout. Nice session beer
How: Bottle 500ml at Die Stube, Brasov, Romania
The look: Near black body topped by a small tan head
In long: Nose has roast, raisins and also notes of fresh fruits. Taste is roasted, fudge, dried black cake, raisins, a bit chalky, fresh tobacco, juicy tropical fruits. For a roasted stout there was a surprising refreshing fruitiness in this beer that I really enjoyed. By nature most stouts cannot really be qualified as ‘refreshing’, but this one really was. I enjoyed this beer and many others on a nice after-noon with my wife, she likes that I desire her more and more with every beer I drink but unfortunately for her never as much as another beer.

Medium body with soft carbonation and sticky texture. Long bitter-sour finish. Not the best one, but it’s a nice delicious stout.

Black without a head. Roasted malts, coffee dry earthy. A bit simple, not what I was looking for. Specially the aftertaste is less good.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Palme (2234) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 6, 2011
0.5l bottle from Centra Colosseum, Oslo shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a really dark - near black - body with a small bubbly and sidesticking khaki head. The aroma is light both roasted, sweet and chocolaty. Also some cold coffee and hints of wood burned actually. Average carbonated with a thin oily mouthfeel. Nice flavors. Roasted, light chocolate, cold coffee and both licorice and hoppy hints in the finish. Lasting roasted aftertaste. A bit thin perhaps, but I quite liked this one.
