An adjunct pale lager indistinguishable from most. Rice cake / saccharine in the nose with some calcium carbonate (Alka Seltzer) and mild honeyish notes. Light body, rough malt and equally rough carbonation. Sweet, low bitterness, medium+ acid. They claim cane sugar is involved but it adds nothing discernible. The aroma and flavor aren’t foul, only bland. they obviously aren’t going for anything special with this beer, just a light lager made for the brand loyal. From can, complimentary, on Hawaiian Airlines cruising at 40,000 feet.

Can during a flight with Hawaiian Airlines between HNL and OAK, August 2013. Clear golden with a white head. A typical boring and sweet Pale Lager with a weak aroma and taste of bread, paper and light notes of fruit.

Taste from Big Braddah can brought back to mainland by Otto. If rated just as a lager, the score would not be as high. I am rating this more as an experimental beer. For a beer designed to show off "Pure Island Cane," it does so well. It is definitely sweet, but finishes surprisingly clean with all the sugar.

22oz bottle...OK, site and setting were everything (chugged it out of the bottle on the balcony of our room in Kauai over looking the sparkling blue Pacific). Enjoyed it thoroughly and was very satisfied with this not-really-from-Hawaii Hawaiian beer. Back in Michigan this undoubtedly would not fair so well...

Westkyoto77 (439) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 31, 2013
Bottle. Slightly darker golden than most lagers, sweetish wooly head. Grassy, sweet, not much depth, but surprisingly drinkable. Kind of a distinct flavour which I’d probably get sick of, but as an end-of-week beer with my Japanese curry it hit the spot.
