On sale at Liquor Mountain for just 138 yen, they also had Anchor’s Humming Ale for 148 yen. It pours like a typical macro-lager, gold with a fizzy white head. It looks fine. The aroma grains, grass & some biscuit. Medium-bodied the carbonation gives it a slightly rough mouthfeel. The taste isn’t so bad, not syrupy sweet like most macros I really get that cane sugar/brown sugar taste, some light malts and a dash of bitterness at the finish alas I get some wet cardboard too which is a bummer. Ok for a macro.

Bomber. Clear gold with a huge white head that reduces quickly. Rather sweet nose, malty and somewhat corny, light grain. Flavor is grainy with a somewhat chemically grass. Finishes surprisingly dry. Meh. Borders on crappy, but I have nothing else to drink right now, so I guess I’ll find the bottom of the bottle...

22 oz bomber from Capital Market, Salem. was kinda tricked really into buying, thought this was brewed on HI. but its brewed in Millers plant in Cali. Ok pretty average looking lager pale golden nice sized white head. Typical. Aroma is pretty pleasant for style only a whiff of carboard to go with the buisuity malts. Taste..pretty average semi-sweet American lager. Mouthfeel is actually Ok they managed to at least keep the carbonation down this makes the overall expierience with the beer more pleasing. This is an OK macro lager..not too many off flavours. reinds me of Henry Weinhards Private Reserve..thats a good thing.

Bottle - Pretty sweet and not very different than an american standard beer. The cane sugar is a nice touch but it is still overly sweet. Disappointed once i found out my bottle was not actually brewed on the island.

Clear golden straw with little head to speak of, just a thin collar of white which looks ready to disappear at any given moment. Faint grains with a touch of honey sweetness makes up all that I can discern of his nose. On a side note, we as humans smell far more then we taste, and when I smell very little in a beer’s nose, then I have even less hope left for what lies below. My first quaff leaves me disturbingly perplexed. There is some weird funky stuff going on in the Primo Island Lager. Cornbread dominates with a frothy mouthfeel which makes it very hard to taste much of anything. A dry weak finish, maybe some herbs, definitely some creamed corn, and I am left with a singular impression of bleh.

Mediocrity strikes once more. I feel like I am on some sick merry-go-round of lackluster lagers with no end in sight. ~sighs~ the things I do for my passion… Self-torture aside, if you’re ever in the islands or just at the beach relaxing, make sure to grab a good beer, i.e. not Primo, kick some sand back, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of all that surrounds you, beer included.

Drank this from the bottle watching some kids play baseball in the dark. This almost tastes of nothing! But I like the way it feels!

Rated from memory, but I drank a lot of these on Hawaii. Routine lager, but fresh and cheap.
