500 ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear light brown, with a moderate beige head that quickly fades. Nose is a faint aroma of yeast and malt. Taste is like most dunkels, a little sweet, but lacks depth of flavor. Watery. Just OK.

This was too sweet for my tastes for a dunkel. It didn’t have much body, could have been more assertive too. I’d drink it if you handed it to me, but I won’t be paying for another.

Aroma of banana and whole wheat bread. Thick looking brown, fluffy tan head. Lots of dark fruit sweetness, relatively spicy with clove and vanilla background tastes. Sampled very fresh, probably improves things. Cream body, high drink-ability.

Full, rich brew with notable yeast aromas lasting from start to finish. Some pleasant fruitiness and rather smooth on the palate.

500ml bottle with a BB date stamp of 15 Feb. 2015. Pours slightly hazy, dark amber, with an abundance of carbonation bubbles rising to a durable, light but creamy, bone-colored head. Aroma: some malt, more ripe banana and spices. Flavor: follows smell, but more malt and less spicy. Feel: light body; exceptionally smooth and creamy for a light bodied beer.

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2014 Aroma: Banana forward nose with some light chocolate and spiced bread; clove is faint. Appearance: Murky light brown pour that really seems nearly blonde around the edges; Very fluffy bone head that settles into a soft cap. Flavor: Spiced bread, slight chocolate up front that develops into an extended banana presence toward the finish; clove lingers as an afterthought. Palate: Full body, creamy texture, average carbonation, long finish. Overall: A little dialed back in almost all respects, which might make it a decent introduction to the style.

Bottle: The aroma consists of banana, wheat, light apple, and a touch of roasted grain/nuts. It pours a cloudy orangish-brown with a large creamy off-white head that has great retention before eventually fading to a thick film. There is some sporadic soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light banana a touch of apple. The finish has roasted wheat and light clove. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
