2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Kris Wines. A brown-orange colour, with a dense head and high carbonation from the bottle, definitely looks the part. Aroma is yeasty and wheaty. Dunkelweizen is quite an ephemeral style, at its best (especially in dunkelweizenbock form) it can be one of the most complex beers imaginable, but often the dark malt seems to dampen some of the wheat character without really imposing its own malty footprint. This was slightly the case with this one, which came out quite yeasty, smooth drinking but perhaps not the more full flavoured or complex beer out there.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Orange-amber coloured beer, a medium sized head that should hold some longer, just a lace stays. A malty beer, with a good amount of weat, some tea-like, slightly spiced and caramel with dark fruits gets trough. A bit watery at the start, but pretty decent at the aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into weizen glass, thick sustained fluffy head. Orange copper color with more than ample carbonation. Sharp, fruity taste with no bitterness. Tastes more like a weizen than a dunkel....small amount of sediment at the bottom of the bottle, but i "swished" it german style and poured into the glass. A good example of true Bavarian weizen...
