COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Skunky aroma. Very thin, clear yellow and fizzy. You can taste the wheat, but this is an overly sweet beer that masks its low quality with sugar.

Clouded golden hue with a decent head and a yeasty nose. Slightly watery yeasty taste with a short malty finish. Thin and uninspiring.

Bottle. This is a fair hefe I’d say. I probably wouldn’t buy it again though, cash strapped that I am. I’d rather pick up a weihenstephaner for 10 cents more

Bright Yellow color, with a bubbly head that disappears quite fast. Yeasty aroma, with undertones of spice and banana. Taste slightly sour, with some bitter hops at the end. Nice palate, with a mild carbonation that is fresh but keeps the flavor well. A refreshing average weizen.

A nice yellow color with a tall white head that gave off a floral aroma. Taste had a kinda funky sweetness to it, almost like those lemon drop candies, a bit to whacked of a flavor for my taste.

(on bottle)Bitter fresh citrus and a minimum of babana in the nose. Lovely hazy-pale yellow. Great. A big, open and sort of hoppt mouthfeel, with a bit more banana/guava. End with a cool carbonated finish. Good summersdrink. Actually it´s a cool name too, real german-obersturmbahnfürer-style.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2006 Aroma is hay, dry grass and grains. Body is a light hay colored yellow and holds a firm and lasting two finger thick creamy white head. Fore is creamy bannana, yeasty, wheat flakes and sweet cream. That flavor profile carries into a slightly more bitter (though not bitter by American standards) finish. I’ve always liked this Hefe and I still do.

labeled konig ludwig weiss bought at albertsons. yeasty, banana, wheat aroma. hazy orange color with a nice large head. orange wheat and yeast flavors. not a wheaty nutty as other weisses. midish with a nice round body slight hop flavor in the end. not particularly unique.

Light brown and cloudy colored. Big white head vanished fastly. Strong yeast aroma with some fruits too. Full bodied and creamy palate. Flavor starts with strong carbonation bite, ends with yeasty, banana and somehow skunky aftertaste. Basic weissbier, full body is nice but mild skunkiness in the end distracts little bit.

The yellow label gave away the contents - banana! Tastes almost like a light spiced rum, with some syrup in the finish. Minimal carbonation, just kind of a "gluggy" pour. This isn’t as refreshing as it should be - given the style.
