3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A wheaty aroma smacks you in the nose, and the taste is refreshing with citrusy spice notes. Very much like a true German Wheat should be. And a tad crisp/sharp, which I didn’t care for. Two Brothers Ebel beats it.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy pale golden color. Huge white head left thick lacing as I emptied this glass. Aroma is lemony and cloves are hidden in there somewhere. Tastes pretty light for a hefeweissbier. Not bad, but not in the same league as the big boys.

Pretty ordinary German Wheat. No head at all and slightly roasted, and slightly seasoned

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Excellent weiss aroma. Apples, citrus, cloves. Nice malty, citrusy taste. Nice tartness. Clean finish with pleasant aftertaste. I would call this a very good representation of the style.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle name was König Ludwig. Hazy lemon yellow appearance with an uncharacteristic thin white head. Aromas of bananas and lemons. Flavors of clove, lemon and a slight peppery feel. This is more reminiscent of a Belgian Wit than a German Hefe. Still quite enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Yeasty, citric aroma, with a hint of clove, and very flourish indeed. Thoroughly hazy pale golden straw yellow. Really fairly attractive, looks like it would be refreshing. Very fine carbonation. Flavor follows aroma very closely in character, with a decent amount of malt, contributing to a medium body overall. The finish has a bit more of the yeast banana/clove flavor, and also a hint of citrus acidity. Pretty good, kind of similar to a witbier in texture and mouthfeel.

Too thin for me.
It has a touch of lemon in it. Thirst quenching but not very complex like Weihenstephaner.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2003 Great beer! Smooth wheat with almost a hint of lemon or other fruit in it. Classic cloudy blond. Very refreshing as most great wheats are. Would recommend to anyone.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2003 Bottled: This is an excellent wheat beer. The aroma is discreet and pleasant. Nice grainy flavour with a good long finish.
