(bottle) This is a hefeweizen that you won’t be dissapointed in. It’s so characteristic of the style; with its slightly cloudy bright orange body and fruity clove notes. Very very smooth. I often feel let down by bottled hefeweizens but this was a winner.

Draught ’Konig Ludwig Weiss’ in the Beer Bar, Glasgow, correct glassware. Large creamy head, uniformly cloudy, good level of carbonation and not served too cold. Yeasty wheat aroma, little bit of banana. Good mouthfeel, refreshing slightly acidic aftertaste.

König Ludwig Weiss is what I drank and that’s what’s available in my area. I don’t understand this name bit. Be that as it may, not a bad hefeweizen. Cloudy yellow with a frothy white head, it has a mild banana and spice aroma. Good tasting with touches of other fruits. Very clean, refreshing finish.

Poured deep cloudy yellow with nice white head...aroma was all bananas and cinnamon and nutmeg...taste was much the same, as you would expect from a Hefe...tasted a lot better than I anticipated...wheat and yeast and bananas, but a little sweeter...really reminded me of my great grandmother’s banana pudding...I don’t like Hefes, but something about this made me nostalgic...so it does get a 5 for palate!

Great hefeweizen. Light head, with good lace. Sharp, fruity/floral aroma and initial flavor that lellows into a hay flavor. A little thin and sharp in mouth feel, but excellent nonetheless.

Malty bread with yeasted cookie dough and banana clovers with a touch of some nutmeg. Amber cloudy gold with a nice large white head that laces the glass quite fairly. Lovely hints of clove, nutmeg and bananas. Yielding yet a nice touch of cookie dough maybe even some cinnamon and allspice aspects. Nice lasting flavor that sings on and gives an ovation that asks for an encore. Very refreshing and pleasant to the buds. In an honest opinion in which we all know where those come from and every one has one. Prinzregent Luitpold is the grandson with all due respect. The brew is an original from the King Ludwig III. Granted that the brews born namenclature should only be König Ludwig Weiss. Sorry I pissed on the name but by right there should be correction. Regardless of dist. and export. If theres any beef e-mail it. Born date on my bottle is 10may03 05:45 Bottle title is König Ludwig Weiss.
Brewed by König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg, Baveria, Germany. So by right the alias name Prinzregent Luitpold Weissbier Hell should be null. Also please forgive I'm posting forum here. Thanks and god bless us all.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2009 Served on tap in the Hahn Hotel bar in Munich. Very delightful wheat beer. Cloudy deep gold in appearance with a herculean foam head. Rich aroma of fruit, grain, and esters. Beer so think you could chew it. Flavors give way to an instant dryness. Crisp aftertaste leaves you wanting another. Maybe that is the brewer’s strategy? Outstanding billboards at nearly all DB stations in Munchen. UPDATE 3/2009: On tap at the Huber Haus. See? I didn’t even need to go to freakin’ Munchen to try this beer.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy golden colour with large white head. Very lively. Nice aroma, spice, banana and yeast. Nice taste, banana again, wheat, yeast; sweet then some sourness. The main taste finishes quite abruptly, leaving a faint , pleasant lingering aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel. Very good.
