COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Starts slightly cloudy dirty yellow. Brightens as it settles in the glass. Light yeast aroma. Very smooth palate. Not a lot of spice or complexity. An excellent beverage for hot summer weather.

Cloudy yeasty. Strong banana flavour. Not as spicey as other (schneider) weiss bier.

Served in a tall Konig Ludwig glass, without a lemon. The beer was just like every german wheat, hazy pale yellow with a very dense pale white colour. The aroma was subdued, not too much to it. A few floral notes, and the typical yeastie smell. The taste was mild but pretty good. Defiately easy on the palate with no complex flavours to deal with. A great all-around german wheat which should be tasted if you can find it. Tasted on Tap under the name: Konig Ludwig Weissbier at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York.

on tap!. A sweet cany like aroma, a flowery taste that finsihed citrusy. I cloudy light golden color with a creamy white head.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2003 Rerate 9/18/03 - Tasted a bit more artificial this time - especially in the aftertaste. Original rating 3.6 - Sweet, fruity, bubblegum aroma to it, cloudy, hazy light pale appearance. Thin white head with a bit of lacing. Very smooth tasting, clean - easy on the palate. Just a tad above par for a German Wheat.

Pear gold with nice grainy white head. Moderately yeasty aroma, moderate banana. A rock-solid weiss -- banana, bubblegum, fizz. Slightly tart on the lips and in the finish, solid mouthfeel. Nothing spectacular, but pretty good.

Poured a medium size white head that did not last long. It was yellow in body. It had a fruity aroma. The appearance was cloudy. I did not feel that there was much flavor or character in this particular German Wheat. I like this style of brew very much, but this one just did not quite cut it.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2003 This brew poured a medium white head of fine white bubbles and a cloudy straw yellow body with a malty aroma. Its flavor was that of a yeasty banana wheat.

[bottle] Murky yellow, with big yeast particles. Towering, but quickly diminishing head. Aroma is yeasty and moderately citric. Taste is OK, even if a bit flat: slightly sour and bitter, with a thin malt texture.
