This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Pours a hazy orange with a thick, two-finger head and some lacing. Smells of bread dough, herbs and spices, and maybe some citrus. On the taste, some sweetness from the wheat, definitely spicey from the yeast. Hints of citrus. Very smooth and a creamy mouthfeel. Drys out nicely leaving some lingering dough. A refreshing beer to enjoy on a hot day.

Beautiful fine foam. Nose of a typical German wheat beer. Taste somewhat disappointing, dies away quickly and not very interesting. A decent but quite straightforward German wheat beer.

Hazy orange color with big creamy white head. Aroma is spicy yeasts, bubble gum, sweet bananas, Taste is doughy, vanilla, light bananas. Finish is full and sweet. "Fluffy" mouthfeel. A classic Hefeweizen. The mouthfeel is incredible, but besides that, it could use a bit more kick.

Draft pour hazy light yellow with orange tint and thin white head. Nose light clove, banana, sweet malt. Taste muted flavors, can get some ester, spice and banana, but also a slight harsh flavor. Initially some rubbing alcohol but that faded as it warms. Light spice in the finish.

pours hazy honey colour with a medium white head and a nice lacing. mostly straightforward banana, cloves, dough on the nose. flavour of banana, spices, dough, prunes, grass, salt, mineral water. slightly sour, mostly because of strong prickly carbonation. a good representation of its style, but nothing extraordinary here.

On tap, 330 ml. Pours light yellow with golden tint. Lightly opaque. Head is thick and white. Mouth feel is creamy with strong carbonation and medium-light body. Tastes nicely bitter with gentle malty sweetness. Starts bitter but after taste is sweet. Flavors of gentle clove, malt, very wheaty, bready, light vegetal hops. Nice, crisp, refreshing and tasteful.

Drank as Konig Ludwig Weissbier which is one of the most dead-on Hefeweizen’s I’ve had. Cloudy yellow pour with a fluffy white head. Fresh aroma of bananas and cloves. Taste is more bananas and cloves and very refreshing. Konig Ludwig hits all the right notes for a tasty Hefe!
