A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with some notes of cardboard, while the flavor has stronger notes of cardboard mixing in with the malt, leading to a dry bitter finish. No wonder the body is thin.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 omhper (17558) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 23, 2010
Canned. After reading through http://www.worldbeercup.org/winners.html I realized that I hadn’t rated thos beauty - the bronze medallist of Category 22: European-Style Low-Alcohol Lager/German-Style Leicht(bier) (16 Entries). It pours pale golden with a miniscule head that diminshes at the speed of light. The aroma is fairly vague, with boiled vegetables being by far the most prominent feature. It’s sweetish, thin and sharp. The edgy aluminium flavour is only rivalled by an offputting concotion of decomposing vegetables and stale butter. The vague notes of grassy bitterness in the slightly drier finish is the closest it gets to anything remotely likable. If this is a bronze medallist (and Falcon Extra Brew 3.5%, probably being the same beer with a different label) is a gold medallist I fully understand where the rumours of a high suicide rate amongst the judges in World Beer Cup comes from.

Can. A clear, almost golden body is topped by a small white head. Fine carbonation. Grains and pale malt in the aroma, with grass and hay to support it. Grainy, grassy flavor with an almost unpleasant hoppy bitterness. Not that it’s too much, it’s just unpleasant. Hop extract probably. Thin body and a grassy and grainy finish with the same unpleasant bitterness. The beer is easy to drink, sort of, but dead boring, but with that strange bitterness I’m not sure. (081213)

Clear golden with tiny white head. Sweet and somewhat malty aroma. Sweet flavor with fruity and malty notes. Light caramel notes with a mild bitter end.
