Skunky malty aroma and murky Brown/reddish colour, medium head. Flavour is the same, thoroughly disappointing. Palate is unpleasant. T: Hello drain I have a present for you!

Can from Systembolaget. Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 231212

Aroma: The smell is weak and mainly dominated by sweet tones, like candid sugar, some malt and a metallic presence.
Appearance: The beer pours with a beige foam that quickly resides leaving little marks on the glass. The color is dark amber/brown.
Taste: The taste is very much dominated by a bit too much sweetness and a metallic feel. A quickly receding bitterness is noted when swallowing.
Palate: The liquid is rather carbonated and gives a soda feeling (like "julmust" - a sweet typical Swedish malt non-alcoholic soda).
Overall: There are better ones!

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2012 Bottle as a sample from the brewery. It has a very weak smell with a note of metal and some wort bread. Similar taste, also weak. Drinkable but not exciting at all.

Can from Systembolaget. Best before date May 2012. I thought I better drink this before getting far too old. Didn’t really like it last Christmas, but with low expectations it was a bit better now than expected. Maybe gained of beeing stored a bit. However a bit too sweet.

Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget in October 2012. (labeled as Pripps Blå Jul) Clear copper with a small white head. Sweet with caramel, malt and some dark bread. Drinkable but not exciting at all.

En högst ordinär julöl. Varken dofter eller smaker sticker ut. Knäck och sirap, och mycket vattnigt.

Bottle (50cl) at Arlanda airport, Stockholm. Small offwhite head, quickly diminishing. Clear, dark brown colour. Aroma of malt, cola, caramel, hint of licorice. Body is medium/light, average carbonation. Semisweet taste with malt and cola, finish is papery. Best consumed cold - as the beer warms up the sweetness appears more cloying and less ’integrated’, and the beer appears more like a mix of lager and cola.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2012 Can. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Chocolate and caramel nose. Sweet malty flavour with a light bitterness, light fruity.

Aroma of roasted malt and possibly some chocolate. The taste is quite sweet and soft, and consists mostly of malt, but there are also some spices in the background. Fairly good and easy to drink!
