COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bitto Honey IPA was born as a gift to be enjoyed at a going away party for two friends, Don and Maddie Bitto - two new doctors from Philadelphia who were headed to Denver for their first jobs as practicing physicians. Bitto Honey is a twist on the ever popular India Pale Ale and has been brewed with fresh honey and a heavy dose of honey malt to provide great balance to the Amarillo and Cascade hops. We believe that Hops + Honey = Heaven. Don and Maddie agreed and we hope you will too.

Tap at Varga Bar, Philly - 24/05/12. Hazy orange colour with small off-white head. Floral hoppy nose, sweet malt, and a little citrus on the nose. Sweet citrus tastes, sweet malt and a definate chunk of honey in there. Medium bodied, sweetish finish, no real bitterness. Not really an IPA in my book!

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 18/09/2010 Hoppy aroma. Golden coloured and hoppy with some sweet honey flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter malt finish.

On tap at CAH. Poured a medium amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, some citrus, and honey (honey comb). Tastes of the same. I would probalby have guessed this one was a APA vs. an IPA.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Prism. Amber pour with a soapy white head. Mild nose. Taste is an aggressive sweet honey and sharp floral hops. Interesting and quite good.

Hazy dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, floral hops, honey, grass, and toast. Taste of citrus, grass, light toffee, honey, and a lightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Nose is dank and earthy-herbal hops, pine-leaning with light malt and citrus, perhaps a touch of grain. Expecting it to be sweet. Dark chestnut with red highlights and a rocky tan head. Taste is strongly bitter, faint metal with some sour acid, though only a stroke. Juicy and citric but higher on resin and scratch, woody with floral and herbal notes that don’t manage to establish themselves until some time has passed. Fullish body, seems like lemon and orange juice have been squirted in at times (zing zing) but even they are covered by the strong dank resin and dark caramel.

12 ounce bottle from a trade with jdb288. This is quite hazy and dark brown. Cool looking. A big darker beige head has good retention. I smell honey and clover with rich malts. No hops on the nose. The hops are tasted and they are classic west coast hops with a nice grapefruit profile. There is a bit of herbal and pine but the hops are generally citrus. This has a little something different and is a tasty IPA.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of hops, pine, caramel malt, slight tropical fruit, slight grapefruit, and a hint of honey. Poured amber/orange in color with a small, off-white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Very good to excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of hops, pine, and caramel malt. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hop and caramel malt finish is dry. Good, but basically an average IPA.

TomDecapolis (4501) - Milton, Delaware, USA - JAN 2, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2011 Tap at CAH. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of floral hops, honey and light caramel malt. Flavor of honey, some citrusy and floral hop notes and light bread character. Bitterness on lower end for an IPA. Could use the help of a heavy dose of some dry hopping. Not gonna compete with todays IPA’s.
