10/18/13. On tap as "Proof Amber" at PBC. Amber pour with a nice khaki head. Dank aroma, generically malty, some caramel, malty. The flavor reminds me of the Spieltag but a bit more bitter, slight hop touch - resiny, dank, cat pee. Not bad.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2013 Aroma is a little sweaty, over a stiff hoppiness and tannic malt. Clear, medium brown. Leans towards being a brown. Nutty sweetness, assertive but not aggressive hops, a little dark fruit and some implied vanilla in the high palate. Slightly heavy mouthfeel, toasted hop aftertaste. Really good, sweeter as it warms. On tap, @ Proof.

Pours a slightly hazy copper color on tap with a fluffy off-white head and great lacing. Aroma of the hops up front, but more malt and grain as it settles and warms up in the glass. Taste follows, pseudo-sweet from the malt, but nice and earthy, with a bitter finish from the hops. Pretty good, but I would almost call it a scotch ale.
