Growler... Blazer’s low-key O-Town Throwdown 2012… Pours clear, deep and dark with shimmers of burnt-orange and a mid-sized white head. The fragrant highlights here are darker chocolate malts and spicy rye malt. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. The flavor is spicy, hoppy and roasty. Finishes chocolaty, modestly bitter and grassy.

1/7/12. On tap at Proof. Deep brown pour with a nice khaki head. Fresh citrus and pine hoppiness, lots of citrus, in the aroma. Rich flavor of sweet hops and caramel with lots of citrus. Nice.

Had this on tap, decent head, body dark in color, smells fruity, and tastes somewhat piney.

From an old note: Version two: growler -- malty citrus, caramel, cereal action with a solid hop bite. This batch seems a little bigger than first. 7.4
Earlier Rating: 8/10/2012 Total Score: 3.7
Version one: tap at Proof. "Larry’s Rye" -- brown pour with orange tint. Nice sudsy lacing in light tan head. Rye and citrus in the aroma. Tastes are grain, citrus, floral hops. Nice medium texture - creamy with light tingly carbonation. Good stuff.

On draft at Proof. Pours a clear brown with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, spicy rye, and some nice citrus hops. Flavor follows with big citrus, nice dry-hop presence, and rye with mild chocolate. Medium in body and a very nice rye overall.

Growler share, thanks Mark!! Nose is rye, bready malt, and tons of pine aroma. Pour is a clear brown with a subdued white head. Easy to drink, with a nice rye and bread flavor up front with a hop bitterness to balance it out. Very nice.

Tap at Proof. Nice dark brown pour, light head. Good hoppy aroma up front, some good rye notes, roasted nuts, dark bready aromas as well. Nice full bodied beer with roasted malt, nutiness, and rye. Nice!

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2013 The second version, with more hops, a better balance, and a bit more alcohol - abv is 7% now. Pours a dark murky brown on tap with nice frothy off-white head and great lacing. Aroma heavy on the chocolate malt, a hint of the rye, a hint of pine and earth. Taste follows suit, but the hops come in big on the finish. Clean and well balanced, with a full, creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Proof Brewing Company. Dark brownish red pour with an off-white sticky head, nice thick lacing. Aroma has some caramel accents, a hint of chocolate. Flavor is solid, with citrus notes, some nuttiness, a touch of cherries, and a minty flourish in the finish. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Very decent.
