Swing top to taster at the RBWG Grand Tasting (thanks James). Looks good; a semi-opaque brown with thin light beige lacing. Smells of dark fruit with a hint of rye. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Brown pour with no head. Aroma is rye malt, and some earthy hops. Sweet caramel malt and some resiny hops. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Not a bad beer.

Growler at RBwG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours clear brown with a fine, foamy white head. Nice piney hop nose, some ripe citrus. Medium sweet flavor, light dry pine, toasty bread, orange and grapefruit, hints of spicy rye. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, light piney resins, ripe orange and grapefruit. Really tasty stuff.

Growler... Blazer’s low-key O-Town Throwdown 2012… Pours clear, deep and dark with shimmers of burnt-orange and a mid-sized white head. The fragrant highlights here are darker chocolate malts and spicy rye malt. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. The flavor is spicy, hoppy and roasty. Finishes chocolaty, modestly bitter and grassy.

1/7/12. On tap at Proof. Deep brown pour with a nice khaki head. Fresh citrus and pine hoppiness, lots of citrus, in the aroma. Rich flavor of sweet hops and caramel with lots of citrus. Nice.

Had this on tap, decent head, body dark in color, smells fruity, and tastes somewhat piney.

From an old note: Version two: growler -- malty citrus, caramel, cereal action with a solid hop bite. This batch seems a little bigger than first. 7.4
Earlier Rating: 8/10/2012 Total Score: 3.7
Version one: tap at Proof. "Larry’s Rye" -- brown pour with orange tint. Nice sudsy lacing in light tan head. Rye and citrus in the aroma. Tastes are grain, citrus, floral hops. Nice medium texture - creamy with light tingly carbonation. Good stuff.

On draft at Proof. Pours a clear brown with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, spicy rye, and some nice citrus hops. Flavor follows with big citrus, nice dry-hop presence, and rye with mild chocolate. Medium in body and a very nice rye overall.
