3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler courtesy of jbruner. Thanks. Pours a light brown color with a big fluffy off-white head that has very good retention. The aroma is big and bold with fresh grapefruit, mangoes, peaches and some pine. The taste does not exactly follow the nose, there is a bitter grapefruit presence, but its really the malts that drive this bus. There is big rich malty character with loads of toffee, caramel, bread dough and some biscuit. Plenty of complex hops compliment the big malt character--I can pick out pineapple, grapefruit, melons and pine resins. The palate is full, smooth and viscous; but also a bit greasy. The carbonation is soft. Finishes medium in duration and a bit bitter-sweet. Overall: Very nice take on the DIPA, very tasty. Just wanna add that this paired most excellently with Reggiano parma cheese, unsalted almonds and Castelvetrano olives as nibble food.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark, chestnut colored beer - appeared to be clear, with a good fluffy head. Nice hoppy aroma - resinous, lotsa Galaxy. Chewy mouth. The beer itself is like a dense bread/biscuit, with hops and dry caramel. Weird fruity tones at times. Medium-heavy mouthfeel. Warming and chummy. As good as this was, it lost in a back-to-back with the Warpath IPA. On tap, Proof, W Tennessee.

Pour from a growler at RBWG. Pours a clear amber with some off-white bubbles. Notes of caramel, tea and other leafy notes, and pine resin. Medium-bodied, with low-to-moderate carbonation and a sticky, resinous mouthfeel. Simple DIPA.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I miss this beer. Smelled of earthy/piney hops and had a great addition of slightly citrusy hops in the taste. This sure packed a punch at 9% ABV too.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Proof. Dark copper pour, off-white, thick sticky off white head, good lacing. Spruce-like aroma, resiny and sweet with a touch of spearmint. Flavor is an onslaught of hops and not much else. Very tasty, but one dimensional and unbalanced. Thick, sticky mouthfeel, Pretty solid.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at brew pub. Hazy amber pour with almost no head. Juicy citrus hop aroma with some sweetness. Citrusy, grapefruit and floral hop flavors and touches of caramel malt. Dead palate and no carbonation. It's comes it up front and then just dies.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at Brewer’s Ball 2013. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, grapefruit, nice citrus presence, and a bit of tropical fruit. Flavor follows with all manner of lovely grapefruits, oranges, and bits of caramel. Medium in body with a lingering citrus hop bite. Enjoyable IPA.
