COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leuchtende orange-goldene Farbe, feinporiger Schaum.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2012 33cl bottle from bierpost.com - Nice and simple beginner’s/market entry IPA for the German palate - At this basic complexity and ABV, not technically a DIPA. Malty, caramel-sweet flavour profile with West-Coast style fruity hops, and low-medium carbonation, medium mouthfeel. Some metallic notes and underbrewed "taste-free" flavour pockets. Almost a session beer and far more agreeable than the underbrewed and Simcoe-ridden other German-first Crew IPA. - Curious: The brewing duo on their website pride themselves in not being "microbrewers" and producing in professional, large batches. Yet, this beer is more expensive in the brewer’s webshop than @bierzwerg/bierpost (if ordering in bulk and extra shipping is not relevant). Message to all German self-proclaimed beer "avant-gardists" with only a 10-year lag on the rest of the world’s microbrewers: I am not willing to pay €14,99 for a 75cl bottle just because you added some Chinook or Cascade hops (yes, I am lookin at you, Häffner Bräu/Hopfenstopfer) Please update price!

Pale amber pour with a tight head. The aroma has a touch of soft honey and a little bit of lightly earthy hoppiness. A bit of soft earthy hoppiness along with a bit of light pine. Herbal and spicy with a little bit of peppery flavour. Noble hops leaning more towards woody and herbal than light and spicy. Assertively hopped though with a clean bitterness on the finish. Some definite crystal malt, but it doesn’t come across all that sweet. Warming intensifies the aroma nicely. Pretty decent really - although it’s definitely not the type of IPA I typically go for.

Bottled 330ml (BZ, BB 01/2013)
Clear amber color, small white head. Fruity and resiny aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrus, bready maltyness, resin. Short fruity finish. Basicly everything is there, but not too robust DIPA.

Draught, 6.5% at BBF12. Good caramelly hop aroma. Clear amber colour. Small white head. Good caramelly flavour, not as powerful as many American IPAs, but good.
