3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle courtesy of Okbeer: Poured a dirty amber color ale with a nice white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of mild citrusy hops with a dry malt base. Taste of citrusy hops is lighter then expected with a malt base that is too dry and IMO would have profited from more caramel malt. Body is quite full with a low level of filtration which I appreciated and some medium carbonation. Interesting but a bit weak on the hops side for the style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(650 ml bottle (produced in week 1, May ’07) from the brewery) Nice, a little light in just about every way...Pours light slightly amberish gold with three fingers of pillowy white head. Sweetish aroma of light toffee, pine and flowers. Mouthfeel smooth, feels a bit light. Lots of foamy rings and sheets of lacing. Flavor is good but on the mild (and probably filtered) side - light malt sweetness overlain by medium bitterness with pine and flowery, very lightly fruity hops. Slight metallic taste detected a couple of times.

22oz bottle via trade with porterhouse! - Thanks Kevin - Pours amber with a solid offwhite head that fades back to a film but leaves nice lace. Aromas of pine, and slight caramel malts. Flavor is caramel, pine, some fruity notes, and even a bit of toffee, and butterscotch. Good balance with a slight bitter finish. Pretty solid IPA here. Not bad..

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
3/4" head on gold beer. Smells right, spruce. Light body. Nice malty beer with juicy hop flavour. The juiciness reminds me of Scarlet’s Fire without the intensity. Enjoyable ESB, perhaps not an IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful bright orange with a big white head that gradually fades leaving no lace. Big fresh fruity aromas, striking passionfruit dominates, some earthiness as well. Delicious caramel malt with a lot of fruity hop character (again passionfruit) with a very generous hoppy bitterness. One of the most sessionable and interesting IPAs I’ve had in a long time. More reminiscent of the english IPA style. Excellent!

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Butterscotch is noteworthy in the mildly spicy aroma along with floral and citrus hops. Clear copper-orange coloured body is topped by a fine bubbled off white cover of head that recedes to a partial cover with minor sudsy lace. Thick, chewy caramel malt flavour and floral hops with fair bitterness. Definitely more of a British take on the IPA than American. Very drinkable medium body with soft textured bubbles and moderate carbonation. Bottle (Production Date Mar-06, trade, Mar-06) sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, Lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere. Thanks, Jerc! *

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Displays a deep orange amber in the glass...frothy 2 finger white cap with good retention and lacing.
Aromas of sweet bread and citrus.
Medium bodied decent malt spine, bright citrusy character, slick mouth feel.
Up front a rush of sweet crystal malts which are quickly balanced off with ample grapefruit and pine tastes from some 60 min. boil warrior and dry hopped amarillos ( great hop blend)....finish is wet and pleasantly bittering with a bready/metallic aftertaste.
A good solid craft IPA that sits somewhere between the milder session IPAs and the exterme hop bombs....goot hoppy character rich malts and decent drinkability.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Growler provided by Olivier_MTL and shared with him, MartinT and tiggmtl. Almost no head lies atop the clear still copper body....the nose is faintly citric-hoppy but mostly juicy apple-caramel sweetness....clean, sweet/bitter balance in the mouth, touches of honey and plenty of spicy hops throughout, a bit of vanilla for fun....moderate carbonation, quite pleasant.

The pour reveals a slightly cloudy copper color with a thin white head. Decent aroma of resinous and spicy hops with caramel malt. Good flavor of spicy and resinous hops with caramel malt and a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and lively carbonation.
