3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark copper color with a small thin head of off-white head. Mild pine soap and light citrus is evident underneath a light sweet malt scent. Some light caramel and rough dough aromas seem to be in play as well. Caramel, butterscotch and earthy hops jump about without mingling and coming together, just there with out direction. Somewhat uninteresting,

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
A gentle white cover garnishes the clear pale gold body. Slightly oily, woody nose reminds of cedar . The aromatics are bright and focused, piney, green and fresh. The parade keeps up on the palate, fresh flavours of earth, wood, pine gum intermingle. Unfortunately, the weak body shows little carbonation to tighten it all together and remains very thin, giving it a rather processed feel. Otherwise, the flavours are really pleasant and refreshing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by 1FastSTi at the 3/25/06 MIlwaukee tasting: Pours a clear copper bronze with a thin white ring of head. Sweet, candy-like hoppy and toasty sugary sweet caramel malty aroma. Body starts with sweet mildly sugary earthy caramel flavor with some light diacetyl and earthy English hops. An ok English styled IPA but could use some more balance.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Darker golden, fairly clear, moderate off-white foamy head, fairly nice lacing.   Soft bready malts along with a nice dose of hop bitterness.   Seems a bit caramely even.   Slight buttery tea leaf on first sip.   Somewhat stale hop flavor.   Soft malt base.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finish seems a bit dirty, like bad water or something.   Tiz okay, but very low on the IBU scale.   Not crisp, but still decent.   Thanks jerc for the bottle!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A veil of head remains over the clear tan-orange.
-A wooden, sandy, resinous hop perfume (Simcoe?) subtly seduces the nostrils.
-Caramel maltiness and citrusy, floral hoppiness coalesce smoothly.
-Mouthfeel and carbonation are a little lazy, but they do their job of carrying the restrained flavors.
What if you dig deeper?
-Some butterscotch appears in the nose, but not too agressively.
-A frank hop bitterness showers the finale.
-Peaches and citrus pulp ease the quaffing.
-Halfway between British and American IPA, this remains drinkable and friendly all the way through.
Bottle; produced the 2nd week of March (2006 I presume).

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thanks to 1FastSTi for the Nova Scotia connection! Clear, bright yellow pour with a short cap of white head and some patchy lacing. Floral and leafy hops provide a pleasant, but safe nose.. with caramel, toffee, and some alcohol wafting through intermittently. Flavor was also OK.. but with nothing close to exceptional going for it... caramel and toffee base with a predominantly floral bitterness. Medium bitterness and low-medium body. Slightly tacky lighter fruits at the finish. Glad to have tried it. Thanks, Blake!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Transparent and pale orangish-copper in color with a saliva spittle and dusty grey wrung to form the head. Orange rind, laundry water, wet dog, simcoe and musty hard water do little to excite from the nose. Liquid farce is a watered down flavor. Hops barely bare their teeth, subsiding with citric oranges and sweet papaya. Mild carbonation merely masks a wishy-washy failsafe tenement. An uninspiring pale ale, but thanks to 1FastSTi for sharing, nonetheless.

From jerc. The beer pours to a glowing orangish copper body with a nice white head. The aroma is very English. Caramel, butterscotch, English hops. The flavor is caramel, floral English hops. Light butterscotch. The palate was moderate at best. A disappointment.
