COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

From bottle. Pours a dark golden colour with an excellent head atop. Potent pine aroma, Apple’s and a touch of lemon too. Prominent hoppy flavor as you’d expect, not too sweet though more of a malty/caramel flavor. Lingering aftertaste and not excessively carbonated tick my box.

(Growler) Pours a slightly hazy medium copper with a short-lived two finger head diminishing to a thin skim and heavy lacing. Nose is floral and herbal hops, biscuity malt, tropical fruit. Taste is sweet malt and mild floral hops. Medium bodied and chewy, with moderate carbonation and a bitter finish. This is a decently balanced brew, with good hop presence and a solid malt backbone. Nothing stellar, but a solid brew.

Couleur jaune brillant avec une mousse moyenne blanche. L?arôme d?agrumes. Très fraîche en bouche, avec un goût d’agrumes et un peu de malt.

Not a bad IPA, but I will usually go for Garrison, when I’m in Halifax. She is pretty juicy in the citrus and resin department. More hops than malt, so it isn’t as balanced as i would like, but still really good. Has a strong face puckering bitter after taste, which I enjoy sometimes.

Had in bottle before, but this time a pint at hart & thistle. Clear light amber. Light caramel and citrus nose. Similar in taste. Good, but not as good as I remember.

Bomber into a tumbler. Pours a clear golden colour with a light fluffy head and some lacing. Light grassy aroma, not too overpowering. Good hoppiness with sweet malts and some dry bitterness. Light and crisp.

Bottle. Sweet caramel malt aroma with some papery oxidation. Slightly hazy bronze under patchy white film. Balanced sweet malt and hops bitterness with caramel, earthy hops. Cardboard oxidation comes in late with the bitterness and is unpleasant. Medium light bitterness, medium carbonation, lingering bitterness.

Bottle sourced from the brewery by the lovely Ellen & Malcolm. Pours amber with a big foamy head. Quite sweet at first with notes of caramel and biscuit before a lovely bitter hoppy finish with a blast of tropical fruit and just a nice amount of alcohol. A very nice IPA.

Location: Draft at Maxwell’s Plum, 7/7/13

Aroma: The nose has some fruity hops to it and some malty notes as well
Appearance: It pours a hazed golden-orange color with a small white head and lace
Flavor: The has a pretty nice hop flavor, some citrus, and some light sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean, easy drinking feel, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: This was probably the best thing that I had at Maxwell Plum’s. It isn’t an amazing IPA or anything, but it is a more than solid example of the style. Nice stuff.

Pours amber with a frothy, light tan head. Aroma of pine, caramel, citrus rind, bubble gum. Taste is fairly malty up front with a lot of caramel, nicely balancing out a firm, clean hop finish. This is one of the best Canadian IPAs I’ve had!
