3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (3262) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 18, 2012
341ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that has decent retention and leaves a thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas are dominated by pine and citrus with some pale malts. Taste is also dominated by pine and citrus with some malty sweetness. This is a bold IPA which has a medium body with nice carbonation. A very nice representation of the style and definitely recommended.

From jerc. The beer pours to a glowing orangish copper body with a nice white head. The aroma is very English. Caramel, butterscotch, English hops. The flavor is caramel, floral English hops. Light butterscotch. The palate was moderate at best. A disappointment.

Very orangey hop aroma, copper, with a small tan head. Flavour is full orange hops, piney as well, nice malt backbone. Medium bodied, well balanced, hops dance on the tongue, fine bitterness. Great! Thank You jerc and OKBeer!

(Bottle) Pours golden. Hoppy and fruity aroma of apricot, pine and stale flowers. Nutty, almond-ish and light caramelly toffee like malt profile. Hoppy and fruity flavour with a pretty massive but somewhat stale tea like hoppiness. Good, clean and sweet malt backbone. Dry, grapefruity medium bitterness. Medium bodied.

So, number 900, I think I spent 2 week in the 800’s! San Francisco and Doug’s Christmas parry will do that to you. Might as well make it with a strong Canadian Beer needing its 10th rating as well. Bottle at Doug’s Christmas 2005, courtesy of our east coast friends again (thanks guys). Dark yellow. Small White head. Strong citrus grapefruit aroma - pleasant. Medium mouthfeel. Strong grapefruit hops taste - some malt in there as well - not too bad. Very short finish. A solid IPA right on style, well done Propeller.

Sample at DougShoemaker’s 2005 December gathering - bottle courtesy of jerc & OKBeer via mr_kimchee. Clear amber with a tiny white head. Great aroma - fresh, fruity, herbal hops, really nice. Flavour has the expected strong hop character, but a good malt balance to keep things in line. Another solid beer from this great little brewery - and thanks to my brother-in-law in Halifax, I’ve got a bottle to drink & enjoy all by myself!

great sticky lacing, and fluffy white head. Aroma of resinous, piney, citric hops, and a little malt. Pretty one sided here.
hints of orange, and the flavor is quite a bit more balanced, the malt makes a distinct appearance. the finish is very bitter, and really clings to the back of my throat. A nice IPA.

650ml bottle, bright golden color, with a frothy white head, sweet floral hop nose, with a mild leafy and grassy accent, with a faint citrus note, a subtle hop spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet pale malt, a mild hop piney character, with a faint juicy hop citrusy accent, with a light honeyish note, leading towards a sweet floral hop peachy fruitiness and a lingering leafy bittering finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rodenbach99 (2508) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 6, 2011
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OhioDad (2493) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - JUN 8, 2007
22oz bottle via trade with porterhouse! - Thanks Kevin - Pours amber with a solid offwhite head that fades back to a film but leaves nice lace. Aromas of pine, and slight caramel malts. Flavor is caramel, pine, some fruity notes, and even a bit of toffee, and butterscotch. Good balance with a slight bitter finish. Pretty solid IPA here. Not bad..
