COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

BuckeyeBoy (2454) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 22, 2011
On tap at Propeller in Halifax. Pours out golden topped with a tall fluffy head. Aroma was of citrus hops, grape fruit juice, light pine, and a good amount of toast. Taste was more of the grapefruit citrus hops, some lemon zest and a good malt backbone. Not a over the top IPA just a casual drinker.

Clear amber and orangey colour with a one finger head that turns into a sticky ring of lace. The aroma is spicy, piney, and floral but not quite as potent as I have experienced in other American IPAs. The taste is more assertive with some hints of toffee and strong citrus. There is nice bitter finish to each sip. This beer goes down quite smooth. This is one of the more well balanced IPAs Iíve enjoyed.

Amber gold, fizzy white head on top. Refreshing hop aroma, citric, berry nose. Grapefruit like flavour on front citrus hops dominant. Long lasting bitter aftertaste.

Dark golden ale with a thin white head. Butterscotch in aroma, with little hops. In mouth, biscuitty malt with pungeant hops, resinous, and a buttery mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006.

Rastacouere (6107) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 27, 2006
A gentle white cover garnishes the clear pale gold body. Slightly oily, woody nose reminds of cedar . The aromatics are bright and focused, piney, green and fresh. The parade keeps up on the palate, fresh flavours of earth, wood, pine gum intermingle. Unfortunately, the weak body shows little carbonation to tighten it all together and remains very thin, giving it a rather processed feel. Otherwise, the flavours are really pleasant and refreshing.

The pour reveals a slightly cloudy copper color with a thin white head. Decent aroma of resinous and spicy hops with caramel malt. Good flavor of spicy and resinous hops with caramel malt and a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and lively carbonation.

650ml bottle, bright golden color, with a frothy white head, sweet floral hop nose, with a mild leafy and grassy accent, with a faint citrus note, a subtle hop spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet pale malt, a mild hop piney character, with a faint juicy hop citrusy accent, with a light honeyish note, leading towards a sweet floral hop peachy fruitiness and a lingering leafy bittering finish.

Bottle. Moderate notes of straw and nutty for the malts, moderate hop notes of perfume, pine and a little orange, light leather and soap for the yeast, and white wine and cherry in the background. Head is small, white and creamy with good lacing and is moslty diminishing. Color is clear amber. Flavor is lightly sweet and moderately acidic to start, and finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, oily and has a soft, almost flat carbonation. A good IPAwith some non-IPA characteristics. I remember this beer beer being better on draught, so Iíll have to re-rate it next time Iím at the local pub.

341 mL bottle. Copper-orange with a quickly diminishing head. Hops are used well for aroma, but the beer could use a little more hop flavour and bitterness. It’s a nice beer, but it just doesn’t stand up to some of the big boys. Very drinkable, though, and a useful beer for introducing others to the style.

341ml bottle acquired in trade with Sammy (thanks for checking this one off my want list!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of floral, earthy, light citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of floral, citrus, and lighter earthiness.
