COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

Medium Orange copper with a thin lasting bubbling white head. Smell of malt, hop, yeast, flowery grass. Medium oily body with a mild carbonation. Light sweet start with a lasting bitter dry acid sour finish. Grass and citrus taste.

341ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that has decent retention and leaves a thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas are dominated by pine and citrus with some pale malts. Taste is also dominated by pine and citrus with some malty sweetness. This is a bold IPA which has a medium body with nice carbonation. A very nice representation of the style and definitely recommended.

11.5 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in a snifter. Pours clear amber with a moderate tan head that remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has notes of pine and toasty malts along with resin and citrus. The flavour is moderately bitter throughout with notes from the nose along with subtle caramel toasty malt sweetness. The finish is moderate in length with a mild grassy hoppy bitterness. On the palate it is light-medium in body with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall this is a decent piney, resinous IPA in the English style. Subtle and tasty, very well brewed. 2013-03-11

Slightly cloudy copper pour with tan head. Heavy nose of resinous hops and roasted malts, with some earthiness. Nice hop bitterness, again, lots of piney flavours, and well balanced subtle sweetness. Nice bitter finish.

It is a decent good beer but just didn’t have that extra bit of taste I get from other IPA’s. Little bit of a disappointment.

Bottle from the brewery shop. Pours a crystal clear deep straw color with a huge tightly bubbled white head that leaves a huge a mount of stickies on the glass. Carmel, earth, and pine in the aroma. The flavor is caramel and earth again with a touch of resin and a hint of alcohol. Sweet maltiness with just a touch of hop flavor and bitterness. Medium body and a moderate level of carbonation. English style maybe, but really tame for an ipa, or too much crystal malt to let the hops shine through. I could drink this there’s nothing wrong with it but it has a 90’s old school feel to it.

650 ml bomber courtest of OKBeer. Late November, 2005 bottling. Deep golden beer. Strong cascade type hop aroma, some nice sweet toasty malts backing it up. Flavour is a bit bready. Well balanced, sweet grapefruit and orange citrus flavour over some light sweet malt. Bready mouthfeel. Tasty but the bitterness could definitely be ramped up about 10 IBUs.

Bottle: Darker golden, fairly clear, moderate off-white foamy head, fairly nice lacing.   Soft bready malts along with a nice dose of hop bitterness.   Seems a bit caramely even.   Slight buttery tea leaf on first sip.   Somewhat stale hop flavor.   Soft malt base.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finish seems a bit dirty, like bad water or something.   Tiz okay, but very low on the IBU scale.   Not crisp, but still decent.   Thanks jerc for the bottle!
