COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Based on a 200-year-old recipe for Porter, a brew whose popularity changed English beer-making methods in the mid-1750s. A dark full-flavoured beer but smoother and less bitter than stout. Made with softened water, Propeller London Porter is a blend of pale, roasted and chocolate malts, hopped with English and North American varieties.

Dark brown with a gigantic, rocky tan head. The aroma has a lot of chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt with some nice chocolate. Super high carbonation and medium mouthfeel.

Large bottle from Liquor Barn in Burnaby Heights. A very dark beer with a hint of ruby translucence near the bottom of stemmed glass. Not as black as coal, but getting there. A generous tan head and sweet malts on the nose.

Wow, they really got the flavors balanced right on this one! First impression is of chocolate and roasted malts with a hint of coffee. Sweet, but not too sweet. Just right. Very smooth, mellow and satisfying!

Oakes, if you read this, I thoroughly enjoyed your reminiscences of Halifax, though I’ve never been there. Cheers!

From a 341 ml bottle into a pint glass (alas the by-and-large disappearance of the bomber....) Roasty aroma with a definitely noticeable coffee tinge. Pours a deep brown with a lasting light tan peripheral head. Rich and malty flavour with chocolate and coffee overtones. Delightful. One of my favourites.

A wonderfully soft porter. I love the very mildly burnt chocolate notes you get in the aroma, with even a bit of plain yoghurt scent. Higher carbonation than Fuller’s. Leaves spiderwebs though! No diacetyl. Mouthfeel is slippery. This deserves more ratings than its average of one a month.

Beautiful roasted coffee and choclate notes. Dark brown in the glass with a nice foam head. Excellent mouthfeel and very smooth. Toasty notes with chocolate and coffee on the palate. This is a delicious porter. Well done. Tasted from a 650ml bottle.

Parfum rôti et torréfié baignant dans la cassonade. En bouche c’est rond, duveteux avec des notes généreuses de café. L’amertume florale avec l’appuie de l’espresso donne un tonus bien apprécié.

650ml bottle pours a nice brown color with a good 2 fingers of light beige head which leaves behind some fine lacing. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is roasted bitterness with some sweet malts underneath and a light hoppy bitter finish. Medium body and abundant carbonation leave a nice feeling on the palate. This is a pretty fine porter and highly recommended for a tasting experience.
