COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crisp herbal fruit nose, amber rose hue, clean earthy mouth, rich balanced malt, spicy midtones arriving at a blissful myriad of bright berry highlights, finishing tart and dry.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Cloudy amber-orange, aggressive carbo like all Propolis brews Iíve tried thus far. The profile is pretty much a repeat of the previous Propolis brews Iíve tried as well-- herbal, highly carbonated, thin malt structure, dry. The main difference with this beer is that it possesses a tad more residual sweetness, but not any real fruit qualities to speak of. these are expensive beers, but Iíve yet to try one that justifies the price.

Clear dark copper color with a huge frothy lasting white head. Berry fruit, dusty pale malt, earthy dry, yeasty aromas. Light body with average carbonation. Lightly sweet berry fruit flavors with dusty pale malts, herbs, caramel, and a lightly dry, tart finish___not very impressed with this one.

Bottle, thanks jack. This was very interesting beer. I cannot believe it is classified as a fruit beer though. I going the herbal qualities to be the overwhelming force behind this beer. I got very light fruit qualityóif any at all. Saw others mention raspberry in some notes, but I could not detect muchómaybe some seeds, but certainly not juicy at all. But the herbal quality was nice and complex and super dry overall. Drinks more like an herbal saison to me. Solid, but maybe this would have been better had I consumed it fresh. I assume the "8/13" refers to the date it was released.

A steady pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces a light tan colored, glass filling, three-finger thick, plus overflowing more over the top head; the head slowly subsides with a quite the structural mesa, and leaves lots of creamy lacing stuck to the sides of my glass. The beer is a deep red / amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, light red stained, dark copper color when held up to the light. The aroma is quite fruit focused with notes of blackberry, slightly seeded raspberries, some strawberry like notes, and really just a bright berry character. Underneath the bright fruit aromatics there is a soft, earthy, musty, and peppery note to the finish, and, if you really dig around, a dried wildflower, and musty-dry straw like character.

This has a floral, fruity, berry character to it up front, and the finish leans more towards a floral nectar like note in some ways, but there is also a bit of spiciness to the finish. The beer is quite dry, perhaps just a touch tart, and there is a bit of a woody, astringent bite to the finish that leans towards some sort of herbal / grassy type note. The up front fruit character screams of berries, though it is hard to assign specifics to the flavor; this has a nice fruit character as the beer first starts to roll across the tongue, the finish is wiped clean by a bitterness, light herbal character and spiciness though. There is a soft, hay like grain character here, perhaps a hint of cracker like malt, and a bit of musty, spicy fermentation character to lightly accentuate things. This is quite light bodied, very quaffable, but has just enough texture to it in the middle to give it a softness and to keep it from being overly light.

Despite being somewhat dominated by the berry character, this beer remains well balanced and much more enjoyable than I was expecting.

Bottle: † Dirty straw, muddy, thick, soft pink hued foamy head, spotty lacing. † Whafts of raspberry puree on the nose, faint, but at the stage when you are boiling to make preserves. † Otherwise a little herbal, some straw and hay too. † Very airy on the tongue, followed by a slightly fruity herbal presense. † A little tart, some powdery sugar like sweetness. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate. † BURP! † Finishes a little dry, somewhat barnish, shrubby, and a bit dusty. † Not bad, wished the berry was a bit more pronounced tho. † Could use less carbonation too, but otherwise enjoyable.

Bottled 07/2013 This says it was brewed with raspberries and strawberries. It pours a turbid dark red with a quilt of toasted cream. Smells of belgian yeast, some clay, some grain and a little sweetness. Flavor is dominated by belgian yeast, some watery fruit juice, some strawberry seeds, malt, and not much else. The body is moderate, but the carbonation is a little too high making the beer foam at the mouth. Overall, Iíve enjoyed the majority of the beer Iíve had from this little brewery, but this is low caliber. Not bad, and Iím happy the label doesnít say itís brewed wtih the fruit, since it takes really deep second stage. Itís a decent belgian style, but nothing special.

Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Always happy to have a new beer from Propolis. Hazy ran pour with a white head. The aroma is full of some toffee and a light raspberry character. The flavor has some floral notes as well as some seedy raspberry and toffee. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice beer.
