Tap at Prost - served in the appropriate glass - clear light amber - sticky, frothy lace - nose of dry, toasty grains, a bit of floral hops, a light mineral bite - mouthfeel is fairly soft - malts are rich, but dry and crackery, becoming just slightly bready on the tail end, adding a touch of toffee sweetness as well a a mineral bite through the middle compliments a hop bitterness that is a bit high for the style, but is fairly pleasant - no apparent flaws - this one turned out pretty well.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear reddish orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, bread, some slight yeasty notes with a hint of grass, herbal hops, touch of toast. Taste was a mix of toast, bread, slight yeast into a bit of dough, some grassy, herbal notes with a hint of grain, finishing slightly bitter, slightly sweet.

(Bue en fût sur place): Des céréales bien craquantes avec une bonne quantité d’épices comme la cannelle et cardamome. Intéressant bouquet de saveurs.

January 29th, 2013 - Prost’s albier may not be as exciting as some of the other offerings on tap, but it again demonstrates that an altbier doesn’t have to taste like a thin, weak amber. It begins with a nutty aroma, and a slight pilsener skunkiness to it - not bad, but identifiable. The taste is cleaner, leading with a caramel note, and following with a nice mineral water profile. I also detect those candied almonds that appear at fairs and festivals, so add cinnamon and brown sugar to the flavor profile too. Sweet, and drinkable, another great drink from Prost. And by now I’m seriously coveting the banners around the brewery. Classiness all around.

On tap at the brewery. Amber color with a thin white head that provides good lacing. Smells of yeast and malted barley. Tastes bready and chewy. Refreshing aftertaste, too! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear amber with a medium white head and great lacing. Grainy, bready, slightly grassy, a touch of toast, cereal, and floral notes in the aroma. Taste is cereal, bready, lightly fruity, grassy, doughy, minerals, and chalky. Light body with high carbobation. Meh.

Clear amber with a long-lasting creamy white head, loads of lace. Aromas of toast, dry caramel, light earthiness and a hint of raisin. Flavor is smooth and semi-dry, a bit too light though. Taste had some toasted biscuit and a light caramel tone, and a whisper of raisin like the nose.
