3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bue en fût sur place): Des céréales bien atténuées et une touche gazonnée. Plus près du côté générique que traditionnel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of biscuit and bread with a bit of grass and some sweet grains. Flavor is bread and grain forward with a bit of biscuit in the finish as well as a hint of grass.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle, but I lost a couple ounces to gushing. That’s an automatic minus one point from the overall score. Consumed on 1-4-15. Mostly clear but slightly hazy pale yellow. Some slow-rising bubbles. Ugly, off-white head. Decent lacing. A notably bad-looking beer. Sweet, pleasant, floral aroma. Quite nice smell. Quite pleasant flavor. Good, dry hoppiness. Tasty and refreshing. Overall, this is a really good pilsner in terms of aroma and flavor. Crisp and smooth with a good aftertaste, but whatever caused the gushing has had a weird effect on the palate, I think, pulling down a bit what could have been a really good palate. This is one of the weirder sets of scores I’ve given. Assuming the gushing issue is an isolated incident, this is one of the best bottled pilsners on the market.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
After it warms a bit, the aroma of some malt and hop notes comes through. The appearance is great! Taste is not overly sweet, which is good: notes of malt and some hop. I’m getting some faint lagerish sulfur notes...finish is dry and slightly bitter. I wanted a bit more body and malt backbone. O Well. Overall, a good style showing but no twist or nothing that makes it stand out.

Nice gold pour, white head. Crisp and clean. Lightly floral, crackery malt bill. Hints of honeyed notes. Really an enjoyable beer!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz brittle pours a pale yellow/straw with a medium white head. Aroma is dry grassy hops, cereal, and dry biscuit malt. Taste similar to aroma with mild malt sweetness and dry hop spice. Clean, balanced and drinkable, a nice pils!

January 29th, 2013 - I actually visited Prost in December, but my notes are falling awkwardly behind, so I’m reporting from the far future on records preserved in the past of an event even further in the past. But Prost is well worth the archival efforts. I begin with their Pils, a staple and, I hope, one of the core brews in a brewery that swears allegiance to lagers. The aroma presents a little banana up front, though not much else, and the flavor begins with a rocky, mineral water taste, which on second inspection all appears in the scent. A corn-based sweetness, like Corn Pops cereal, juts forth in the flavor, surfing on a medium body. I’m not sure whether I enjoy this taste, but it [asses, leaving a long aftertaste of deep honey sweetness lingering on the tongue. Though pilseners are generally not my favorite style, this is a demonstrably rich version, with an engaging flavor, especially in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Clear bright and light gold pour with a small white head. Cereal grains, pale malt, and a bit of hop. Actually finishes a little dry.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub. The visuals are spot-on. The aroma is spot-on. Biscuity, but tightly Teutonic hoppiness, spot on. I’m in Germany, next to I-25. (#5638, 8/24/2014)

12 oz. bottle. Enjoy by date 09/09/14. Pours a thick, tiny bubbled, well retained white head, with some lacing, over a clear yellow (SRM 3)body.....nose is Pils malts, with cereal, light hop spice, no esters.....taste is very slightly sweet to start, with hints of light colored fruits (pear, apple), leading to a soft herbal hop bitterness, no esters....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, mild astringency, carbonation adds a moderate acid finish. This is a fairly typical example of the style. It is clean, crisp, well carbonated, moderately bitter with noble varieties, and thoroughly refreshing. BJCP 7/3/15/5/7
