COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a northern German staple and our flagship beer. This is a crisp, pale and dry interpretation of the style. Well hopped with noble German varieties and a special strain of yeast from a German monastery. Prost Pils is pale gold in color and capped with a thick, brilliantly white, dense collar of foam. With the first sip spicy hop flavors come to the forefront. As the hop begins to fade, the wonderfully soft imported pilsner malt is revealed. The finish, with its herbal, pleasantly lingering hop note balanced by a rich malt counterpoint, demands another taste.

Pint at Falling Rock. Pours with a crystal clear golden hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are bready, crispy, grassy, clean and toasty. Flavors are toasty malt, assertive bitter, cleanly bitter, crisp and a bit herbal. Lively carbonation, medium-light bodied and dry. Well made for sure.

12oz brittle pours a pale yellow/straw with a medium white head. Aroma is dry grassy hops, cereal, and dry biscuit malt. Taste similar to aroma with mild malt sweetness and dry hop spice. Clean, balanced and drinkable, a nice pils!

January 29th, 2013 - I actually visited Prost in December, but my notes are falling awkwardly behind, so Im reporting from the far future on records preserved in the past of an event even further in the past. But Prost is well worth the archival efforts. I begin with their Pils, a staple and, I hope, one of the core brews in a brewery that swears allegiance to lagers. The aroma presents a little banana up front, though not much else, and the flavor begins with a rocky, mineral water taste, which on second inspection all appears in the scent. A corn-based sweetness, like Corn Pops cereal, juts forth in the flavor, surfing on a medium body. Im not sure whether I enjoy this taste, but it [asses, leaving a long aftertaste of deep honey sweetness lingering on the tongue. Though pilseners are generally not my favorite style, this is a demonstrably rich version, with an engaging flavor, especially in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Clear bright and light gold pour with a small white head. Cereal grains, pale malt, and a bit of hop. Actually finishes a little dry.

Draft at the brewpub. The visuals are spot-on. The aroma is spot-on. Biscuity, but tightly Teutonic hoppiness, spot on. Im in Germany, next to I-25. (#5638, 8/24/2014)

12 oz. bottle. Enjoy by date 09/09/14. Pours a thick, tiny bubbled, well retained white head, with some lacing, over a clear yellow (SRM 3)body.....nose is Pils malts, with cereal, light hop spice, no esters.....taste is very slightly sweet to start, with hints of light colored fruits (pear, apple), leading to a soft herbal hop bitterness, no esters....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, mild astringency, carbonation adds a moderate acid finish. This is a fairly typical example of the style. It is clean, crisp, well carbonated, moderately bitter with noble varieties, and thoroughly refreshing. BJCP 7/3/15/5/7

Bottle. Clear gold with a clean white head that lasts and laces. Aromas of bread, grain, light lemon and spice. Flavor is the same. Light bodied, crisp with a slightly dry and bitter end.

Completely oxidized bottle. Unfortunate as the tap I had was pleasant. Will never buy a bottle again.

Really nice pils. Golden pour. Grass, dough, lemon. Nice sweet and floral taste with fine body of pale malts. Spritzy mouthfeel. Very sessionable.

Had on draft. Sweet pilsner malt with an herbal hops aroma. This is a super solid pilsner.
