With flavors of banana and clove this Bavarian specialty is well known within our market. Our head brewer has won a number of medals with Hefeweizen including: Silver in 2009 and 2010 and Gold in 2011 at the GABF in the Southern German Hefeweizen category. As well he won the best of show with Hefeweizen at the Colorado state fair in 2011.
2015 GABF Gold medal winner in the Southern German Hefeweizen category.

Draught at kitchen next door. Noticed a lot of batch variance with this beer, quickly rating a good one. Big banana clove doesn’t come off as plasticky or fake like many American interpretations; legitimately Bavarian in character. If its a good batch I prefer this to dry dock hefe, but that only seems to happen like half of he time. Had a pint at Prost recently that was average to below and noticeably different, hopefully bill and the crew can become more consistent.

Draft at West rail Tap & Grill. Weak head, cloudy golden body, normal weisse aroma and taste. Pretty decent approximation of the style, except for the appearance.

Bottle. Banana, peach, clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet banana, lemon/orange, clove, wheat malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. Very solid Hefeweizen.

Prost Weißbier has an outlandishly exuberant head of foam, that literally exploded out of the bottle, so watch out with that. The foam is off-white. Lacing is heavy, at first, but then drops off. The appearance of the beer is yellow-orange (think of Blue Moon) and bubbly, to the hilt. Aroma is of banana, Hubble Bubble gum, cloves, coriander, and white wheat bread. Taste is of those elements, with a peppery spice, kicking right in, but with very little bitterness showing up, which is no surprise. Mouthfeel is low medium, and Prost Weißbier finish on the dry side of the equation. RJT

It is shocking to find a Hefeweizen from America that truly tastes German. This is the best American Hefeweizen I’ve ever tried; most fall totally flat in comparison to those of Germany.

Bottle from coworker. Pours a cloudy goldish orange color. One finger high head. Nice banana, wheat aroma. Light sweetness. Average to below average carbonation. Slight pepper yeast notes with some sugary notes and banana. Velvety smoothness. Crisp. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours the right shade of cloudy yellow. Aroma and flavor are on point (citrus cloves, you know the spiel). Carbonation is where it should be. All in all a decent choice for the style. Note: Let warm out of fridge for 30 min before pouring from bottle.
